C) Azhar should tell Najib everything he knows about Taufik including the fact that the
company tried to remove him as Division Chief but were unable to. He would then have to
explain that it was Julia who became the real chief of the division, and that it was through her
leadership that the Division was so productive.

If we talk about the law, generally Azhar does not violate any rules and regulations if he tells
Najib about Taufik. But is it ethical and moral? also is that a good etiquette? Although law and
morality are a two-separate issue, it is proven that morality plays a vital role in the law. It does
not mean our value or ethics are wrong if we think differently than others.

When we talk about ethics, we must understand what is ethical and what is its role in
individuals. Ethics is moral principles that govern a person's behaviour or the conducting of an
activity. It is an ethical dilemma happen in the workplace at the TaikoChem. As a Division
Chief, Taufik should be the role model for his staff. It Is good that Taufik has many qualities
including extraordinary intellect, great vision, a thirst for knowledge and a strong self-
confidence. By doing so, he is establishing and sustaining an organizational culture of ethics
and integrity which is the backbone of all successful enterprises. But one of the biggest
problems Taufik had was he simply did not know how to put his vision into practice and as the
consequences the weekly meeting of the R&D Division section heads quickly extended from
1 hour to 3 hours. Despite the extra time, decisions were hardly being made. Part of the
problems was that it appeared that Taufik could not work out what items were important and
what were trivial. He did not understand the implications of some of his plans. Taufik has
problems in leadership, management and inability to justify and make sound decisions.

However, it is how management recognizes and addresses these events that either sets them
and their team apart for success or failure. One of the biggest hurtles management can
overcome is to be aware of their surroundings because when management fails to notice and
act, it is an ‘ethical failure’ (Bazerman & Sezer, 2016). Most ethical dilemma involve a conflict
between the individual versus the organization. In this situation the management did a great
initiative by appointing Julia, the most senior among section heads as the Associate Chief of
the R&D Division. Over the next two years, under Julia’s leadership, the performance of the
Division dramatically increased as staff began to work together much better.
Morality is simply the difference between right and wrong. If you think one thing is right so it
considers moral to you but maybe immoral to others. Knowing between right and wrong is a
good way to practicing good ethics and morals. But, bare in minds a Confucian scholar Mencius
stated that “only the benevolent man is fit to be in high position. For a cruel man to be in high
position is for him to disseminate his wickedness among the people”. The action taken by
Azhar is consider a moral act in keeping the good reputation of his and Najib’s company. This
is because when Taufik works at Najib's company, it is likely that the same thing will happen
where the morale of the workers is very low, and this will result in less productivity and
undermining the organization. I stan with Azhar decision by telling Najib everything he knows
about Taufik.
