Institutional rankings within the QS World University Rankings are based
on six indicators that take into consideration academic and research
performance as well as international outlook.

3. U.S. News and World Report
More than 1.250 universities from 60 countries have been ranked based
on 13 indicators that measure their academic research performance and
their global and regional reputations.

12.5% - Number of publications that are among the 10 percent
most cited
10% - Publications
10% - Percentage of total publications that are among the 10
percent most cited
10% - Normalized citation impact
7.5% - Total citations

5% - Percentage of total publications with international
collaboration
5% - Number of highly cited papers that are among the top 1
percent most cited in their respective field
5% - Percentage of total publications that are among the top 1
percent most highly cited papers

4. Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)
ARWU uses six objective indicators (in four categories) to rank world
universities, including the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel
Prizes and Fields Medals, number of highly cited researchers selected by
Clarivate Analytics, number of articles published in journals of Nature
and Science, number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index -
Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index, and per capita performance
of a university. More than 1200 universities are ranked by ARWU every
year and the best 500 are published.
