Info:

Vehicles with long life service intervals (some Audi/Skoda/Seat/VW) cannot be reset using
these procedures, only cars (some Audi/Skoda/Seat/VW) with fixed interval servicing can
be reset. A VAG style scan tool will be required.

I take No Responsibility over your actions whatever may happen, reset your service light at
your own risk.

If your service light wont go out on your first try have a few tries sometimes its hard to do.
Please note where “– “is shown, this means tested up to year 2002.

Volvo S40 / V40
1999
1. Switch ignition on.
2. Press and hold reset button A.
3. Keep the button depressed for 12 seconds.
4. The service interval indicator will flash.
5. Release reset button A within 4 seconds.
6. An audible signal will be heard when reset.

Volvo S40 / V40


2000 –
1. Switch ignition off
2. Press and hold reset button A
3. Switch ignition on
4. Keep button depressed for 10 seconds
5. Service interval indicator will flash
6. Release reset button A within 4 seconds
7. An audible signal will be heard when
reset.

Note: If the reset button not released within 4


seconds, the service interval indicator
will not be reset but it will stop flashing.

Volvo 850 (Odometer below the speedometer needle)


1991 – 1995
1. Switch the ignition on
2. Connect the fly lead to terminal number 7 on the
diagnostic socket
3. The diagnostic socket is located behind the right
hand headlight
4. Select check function 4 by pressing button A four
times
5. The system is ready to accept the reset code once
the LED is illuminated
6. The resetting code is 1 5 1
7. Press button A once
8. When LED illuminates press button A five times
9. When LED illuminates press button A once
10. The LED should repeat the code to show it is accepted

The new service interval is now displayed briefly followed by the message ‘END SIA’ for
approximately 2 seconds.

Switch ignition OFF.

Vehicles with long life service intervals (some Audi/Skoda/Seat/VW) cannot be reset using
these procedures, only cars (some Audi/Skoda/Seat/VW) with fixed interval servicing can
be reset. Use a VAG style scan to in that case.
