Position: permanent

Full-Time: 37.5 hours per week

Classification: LE3

Salary: Gross monthly salary of between ARS 40.240 and ARS 47,987 depending on skills and
experience, plus 13th salary.

About the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

The role of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is to advance the interests of Australia
and Australians internationally. This involves strengthening Australia’s security, enhancing Australia’s
prosperity, delivering an effective and high quality overseas aid program and helping Australian
travellers and Australians overseas.

The Department provides foreign, trade and development policy advice to the Australian
Government. DFAT also works with other Australian government agencies to drive coordination of
Australia’s pursuit of global, regional and bilateral interests.

About the position

Working with Australian officials from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, this
permanent position will provide executive support to the Ambassador and visit, event, protocol
services and general administrative support for the Embassy and its staff.

The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

· Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Ambassador, including organising daily
program, arranging appointments, preparing correspondence and managing representation funds

· Act as social secretary to the Ambassador, organising functions and issuing and following up on
invitations

· Liaise with domestic staff in regards to preparations for representational events and provide
support to other departments and Australian companies for co-funded/hosted events

· Coordinate official visits by the Ambassador to the provinces of Argentina and to Uruguay and
Paraguay

· As Protocol Officer, prepare correspondence, in relation to accreditation issues, arrange visas


and identity documents for staff and liaise with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

· In consultation with the Office Manager, coordinate tasking of Driver(s)

· Assist with the organisation of visit programs for high-level government officials and escort
visitors on city tours as required

· Assist the Public Affairs Officer as required, including acting as back-up Public Affairs Officer
during absences

· Assist with translation and interpretation and act as back-up to the Receptionist as part of a
roster as required

· Assist with general administrative work in consultation with the Senior Administrative Officer
and Office Manager.

Selection Criteria

In your written statement, you must include succinct, high-level and relevant examples that support
your claims against the role.

· Relevant logistical and administrative support experience in a small to medium sized


international organisation and/or for high profile international events.

VACANCY

· Strong liaison, representational, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.

· Fluency in written and spoken English along with an ability to communicate effectively orally
and in writing.

· Proven ability to provide accurate and timely information, with a demonstrated ability to focus
on attention to detail, setting priorities, showing initiative, and flexibility, exercising sound judgement,
meeting deadlines and achieving results.

· Previous experience producing high quality written correspondence using MS Office.
