PROJECT 1

SOLAR WATER PUMP WITH SMART TIME CONTROL FOR POWER

SAVING APPLICATION

ABSTRACT :

Nowadays the modern technologies are helpful in all aspects of our life. Due to this lots of
development done in the field of agricultural. The solar energy converted into electrical energy
by photo voltaic cells. This energy stored in batteries during the day time to run the water pump
for agriculture and distribute the water to the farm. The project is designed to operate the water
pump at four different time slots. It prevents the difficulties of switching the pump on/ off
manually. Real time clock interfaced to 8051 then 8051 give command to the corresponding
relay to start the load and another command to switch off the load is programmed by the user. A
matrix keypad helps to entering different time slots. Switching the pump ON/OFF manually
these difficulties can be overcome using this project. There be an inbuilt real time clock
(RTC)which keeps tracking the time and thus switches ON/OFF the pump accordingly. In this
project, solar panel used to charge the battery a LCD display is interfaced to the to display time.

CELL PHONE CONTROLLED HOME APPLIANCE SWITCHING

BY MICROCONTROLLER.

ABSTRACT :

It often happens that we forget to switch off some electric devices while leaving home for a
journey. This will result in wastage of energy and even the device may get damaged due to
overheating. Even if we remember that we have not switched off some devices, it may be
difficult for us to come back and switch them off. Also, if we are away from home we may have
to turn on the lights at night. These are normally not possible in present condition. This paper
offers a solution for this problem by using a mobile phone, a common electronic device like AC,
tube light, fan, water pump etc. can be controlled by using this circuit.

DISH POSITIONING BY USING IR REMOTE

ABSTRACT :

In this paper, microcontroller was designed to develop a dish positioning system which can be
operated by using a remote control. The main point of using a dish is to receive signal from
satellites and other broadcasting sources. In order to get the exact angle of position of the dish, it
needs to be adjusted manually. In order to overcome the difficulty of adjusting manually, this
paper helps in adjusting the position of the dish through a remote control. Remote control acts as
a transmitter whose data is received by an IR receiver which is interfaced to a microcontroller.
The remote control sends coded data to the receiver whose output is then sent to the
microcontroller. Basic pro language is also used to implement this system. The microcontroller
sends the control signals to the motor through an interface known as relay driver.

AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHT DIMMER FOR VEHICLES USING LIGHT

DEPENDENT RESISTOR (LDR) SENSOR

ABSTRACT :

Headlights of vehicles pose a great danger during night driving. The drivers of most vehicles use high,
bright beam while driving at night. This causes a discomfort to the person travelling from the opposite
direction and therefore experiences a sudden glare for a short period of time. This is caused due to the
high intense headlight beam from the other vehicle coming towards the one from the opposite direction.
In this project, an automatic headlight dimmer which uses a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor has
been designed to dim the headlight of on-coming vehicles to avoid human eye effects. This automatically
switched the high beam into low beam, therefore reducing the glare effect by sensing the light intensity
value of approaching vehicle and also eliminated the requirement of manual switching by the driver
which was not done at all times. Matlab software was employed in designing the project. The Keil
software was also employed to program the microcontroller. The system device was able to automatically
switch the headlight to low beam when it sensed a vehicle approaching from the opposite side using LDR
sensor.

WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK.

ABSTRACT

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are used for various applications such as habitat monitoring,
automation, agriculture, and security. Since numerous sensors are usually deployed on remote and
inaccessible places, the deployment and maintenance should be easy and scalable. Wireless sensor
network consists of large number of small nodes. The nodes then sense environmental changes and report
them to other nodes over flexible network architecture. Sensor nodes are great for deployment in hostile
environments or over large geographical areas. This article presents the design of a system for detection
of temperature and humidity and smoke for the prevention of forest fires using wireless sensor networks
to prevent a disaster (forest fire) that could lead to loss of a significant number of natural resources. In this
project, several tests had been conducted in order to prove the viability of the system. Test results
indicated that the reliability of the system in propagating information directly to the base station could be
gained excellently in various conditions.

DETECTING LEAKS IN UNDERGROUND PIPELINES

ABSTRACT

Gas pipelines are the most vital and commonly used method of transportation of fuel, water, gas.
Any form of leak in the pipeline can be catastrophic to mankind, incurring huge financial losses.
In this paper, an experimental study has been carried out with respect to a real-time monitoring
on the pressure and the flow variations. A small section of the pipeline with valves is considered
to generate a synthetic leak in a pipeline. The regulation of these valves can be used to monitor
the effects of leak on pressure and flow parameters of the town gas. Town gas is widely used in
household and industrial applications in Singapore. A systematic test has been performed to
analyze the irregularities due to leak. The performance and the magnitude of the signals will help
in defining the effects due to leak location and valve operation.

WATERSCHEDULING FOR MUNICIPALITIES USING RTC

ABSTRACT :

The main aim of this student project is to build a Water Scheduling for Municipalities using
RTC.In main cities the water distribution system was done in regional manner. Normally the
municipalities are responsible for this water distribution. It can be done through manually, but it
can’t possible to maintain scheduling for all times. Time lagging is reduced by this system
arrangement. So, we go for this real time scheduling of water supply. In this project we have a
RTC (real time clock). We should provide water supply in particular area with in a periodic time
interval. This time interval is set in a RTC programming. These all operations are controlled by
the micro controller. The Water scheduling time may be edited by modifying the RTC
programming.

MICROCONTROLLERBASED RAILWAYS ACCIDENT AVOIDING

SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

A classification of accident by their effects derailments. Head on collision one type of train accident is
when two trains collide front face with each other or train colliding on the same track from opposite ends
called head on collision. Rear end collision the other kind is when a train collides into the other that is in
front of it called a rear end collision. When the train arrives in a particular direction the transmitter IR
senses and generates appropriate signal then at the same time the IR receives the signal and generates an
interrupt. When interrupt is generated the stepper motor rotates in clockwise direction. When the interrupt
ends the stepper motor rotates in anti-clock wise direction. The ministry of railways has taken steps to
reduce the consequential train collisions accidents and level crossing accidents

RADIO FREQUENCY BASED REALTIME CHILD MONITORING AND

ALARM SYSTEM.
ABSTRACT

This paper presents a tracking system which is capable of detecting various danger surrounded by more
than one child and trying to decrease the limitations that found in the present systems. The designed
system consists of two modules; parent module and child module. When a violation of child safe is
detected, a specific sensor in child module will produce a signal. This signal will be sent from these
sensors to controller then through transmitter to parent module which will take the required decision and
start the violation handling procedure. The parent can set the system to work indoor or outdoor and
depending on this selection the parent module can calculate the distance at any moment between each
child and their parent. Global Positioning System (GPS) is used for outdoor distance calculation while
change amplitude of RF Signal is used for indoor distance calculation. Also, the parent can delimit the
safety distance for each child and when it is overtaken the system will alarm both of them the parent and
child. The proposed hardware and software for this design is simple and be implemented on a single chip
microcontroller with low cost.

USER PROGRAMMABLE NUMBER TO OWANER WITH REMOTELY

ABSTRACT

Car theft is major issue at every place in the world. So, car security has become important for each and
every car user. Here, we had made an attempt to solve this problem. “Antitheft security system” utilizes
an embedded system design with GSM to monitor and safeguard a car. Upon activation; it automatically
demobilizes the car by disconnecting the ignition key supply from the car battery. From the research
conducted, it was found out that majority of the existing car security system uses only alarm, and doesn’t
send text message to the car owner. But with the use of GSM network, the owner is guaranteed that the
car will send text message to his phone, and at the same time, have people around alerted of what is
happening. As car owner already lock the ignition of car and demobilize it before leaving car, the car
cannot be move. Added to this, owner can track the car location using LAC (location area code) and CID
(cell Identification) codes and retrieve it.

VOICE INTERACTIVE SYSTEM FOR SCHOOLS/COLLEGES.

ABSTRACT

The Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System serves as a bridge between people and computer databases
by connecting the telephone network with the database. The telephone user can access the information
from anywhere at anytime simply by dialing a specified number and following an on-line instruction
when a connection has been established. The IVR system uses pre-recorded or computer generated voice
responses to provide information in response to an input from a telephone caller. The input may be given
by means of touch-tone or Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) signal, which is generated when a caller
presses a key of his/her telephone set, and the sequence of messages to be played is determined
dynamically according to an internal menu structure (maintained within the IVR application program) and
the user input. The IVRS system which will be designed will provide an ideal platform for the operation
of start-ups and existing small concerns. It will be a highly economical and efficient way to replace the
Dialogic card which is very costly and requires a high maintenance and regular up gradation. The IVRS
system which will be designed will consist of simple components like microcontroller and some basic
application chips interfaced to a PC which will have small software running in the backend while the
other jobs are performed on the front end

ABSTRACT

This paper presents a device to detect rash driving on highways and to alert the traffic authorities in case
of any violation. In past, lot of devices to detect rash driving on highways has been made. Most of the
approaches require human concentration and involve a lot of effort, which is difficult to implement. In
this paper we intend to design a system aimed at early detection and alert of dangerous vehicle driving
patterns related to rash driving. The entire implementation requires an IR transmitter, an IR receiver, a
control circuit and a buzzer. The speed limit is set by the police who use the system depending upon the
traffic at the very location. The time taken by the vehicle to travel from one set point to the other is
calculated by control circuit and displays that on seven segment displays. Moreover, if the vehicle crosses
the speed limit, a buzzer sounds alerting the police.

ABSTRACT

This paper presents the design and simulation of Microcontroller based Electronic Calendar using Circuit
design suite- MULTISIM. Paper calendar has been in existence and is used manually to keep date of each
week of the month every year. The emergence of electronic calendar has taken precedence over the paper
type. Every electronic device is now integrated with the electronic calendar to enable the user to keep
time and date anywhere at any time. This report would enable user to understand the foundational design
of the electronic calendar through simulation. The system design was achieved by dividing it into five
modules namely power supply, 8051 control system, select and set, day and date, digital clock display.
Digit numbers that represent time, date, month, and year were written in assembly language and tested.
The simulated system displays accurate time of the day, day of the week, its date, month and year. 8051
Microcontroller controls every unit and the result is shown to the user through seven segments display.

HOME AUTOMATION SYTEM BASED ON WIRELESS AND INTERNET.

ABSTRACT

Internet of Things (IoT) conceptualizes the idea of remotely connecting and monitoring real
world objects (things) through the Internet [1]. When it comes to our house, this concept can be
aptly incorporated to make it smarter, safer and automated. This IoT project focuses on building
a smart wireless home security system which sends alerts to the owner by using Internet in case
of any trespass and raises an alarm optionally. Besides, the same can also be utilized for home
automation by making use of the same set of sensors . The leverage obtained by prefering this
system over the similar kinds of existing systems is that the alerts and the status sent by the wifi
connected microcontroller managed system can be received by the user on his phone from any
distance irrespective of whether his mobile phone is connected to the internet . The
microcontroller used in the current prototype is the TI-CC3200 Launchpad board which comes
with an embedded micro-controller and an onboard Wi-Fi shield making use of which all the
elctrical appliances inside the home can be controlled and managed.
