Discussion

As the students analyzed the data gathered, the data showed the different results when we modify the
position of the link. And every movement has corresponding deflection, positive when stretched and
negative when compressed. So the graph corresponds to the data input. The students set values
ranging from -1 to 1 and moved the link to those values. Each value gave sensor movement in which,
when seen in the graph, will give the slope and the offset. In which the next step, calibration, will be
based upon. At calibration, we can check whether our data and results are accurate by manually moving
the link and verifying the flexgage. And for the last part, the graph showed the natural frequency which
is the highest point on the graph.

Conclusion

The students therefore conclude that the strain gauge sensor is useful in measuring the deflection of the
link. And as the length of the object increases, the resistivity also increases and this happens when the
link is position to the positive side the sensor. This also requires accurate measurements since the
results that were shown by the device keeps on varying from time to time.
