Stress
“Heat Stress”

1. Hazards involved while working in Hot Condition :-


 Dehydration  Overheating of body  Heat stroke
 Illness  Headache  Heat rashes
 Heat Cramp  Heat Exhaustion

2. Do’s:-
 Drink more and more water / liquid frequently.
 Check your urine color to verify whether you are drinking adequate water.
 Drink electrolyte drinks, they are good for replacing both water and mineral.
 Always watch out for each other to spot symptoms of heat stress.
 Take intermediate break while working in hot condition.
 If you are feeling over heated, than cool off for few minutes.
 Wear lightweight & light colored cloth when working out in the sun.
 Check regularly If you are physically ill, especially with heart disease or high blood pressure
 Take adequate sleep.

3. Don’ts:-
 Don’t wait until you you’re thirsty. Drink water/liquid frequently.
 Don’t drink alcohol, tea, coffee etc.
 Don’t work in out in the sun if you’re physically ill or effected from any disease.
 Don’t wear black colored & thick cloth.

Condition Symptoms First Aid & Treatment


Heat Cramps Painful cramps - Move to a cool place and rest. Remove excess clothing
especially in the legs, and place cool cloths on skin; fan skin.
Flushed, Moist skin - Give cool / electrolyte drinks containing salt and sugar.
- Stretch cramped muscles slowly and gently.
Heat Muscle cramps, Pale, - Move to a cool place and rest.
Exhaustion moist skin, Usually has a - Remove excess clothing and place cool cloths on skin;
