My name is Sharanya Shanmugam, I am a Pupil in Chambers who is about to complete

my pupillage. I am writing to apply for the post of Legal Assistant at your firm.

I am currently chambering in Othman Hashim & Co, under Mr. Kanthavil Karapiah. I am
expected to be called to be Bar, in the beginning of September. Although, I do not have 2
years experience as per your requirement, I believe the skills and knowledge I have
acquired during my pupillage would help me to carry out my responsibilities efficiently.
During my stint as a Pupil in Chambers I have conducted extensive legal research,
conducted client interviews, and prepared Cause Papers. I have also attended Case
Managements and Mentions in various courts.

I was offered to be retained in Othman Hashim & Co after my pupillage. However, Othman
Hashim & Co is a firm which focuses predominantly on runner matters and I have come
to the realization that it is vital to explore different areas of law as the legal field is very
wide. Therefore, I will be glad if were to be offered to be a Legal Assistant at your firm as
it will be a great opportunity for me to learn different areas of law and to develop my
professional skills. I believe my passion to learn and my diligence will make me a great
addition to your team.
