The Components of Seminar

In the seminar, there are several components or participants who involved in it. The components
who involved in the seminar are presenter, moderator, notulen, discussors, master of ceremonies
(MC) and audiences.

1. Presenter.
The presenter is the main participant that must be present in the seminar. The presenter is
the person who provide the material to be discussed at the seminar. A presenter must be
able to explain the material or theme in detail, and explain things that are considered
important. So being a presenter must have a lot of knowledge.
2. Moderator.
As in other discussion, a moderator is in charge of leading the seminar and has the right
to control every arrangement or regulation in the seminar. The moderator as in charge of
knowing the rules of discussion, opening the discussion, organizing discussion,
concluding the discussion, and closing the discussion.
3. Notulen.
Notulen is a person who is assigned to takes notes or write important points that occur in
seminar activities. The notulen must be able to record the result of the seminar then
submit or report to the seminar participants. In the of end of the seminar, notulen are
chosen by moderator to making a seminar conclucion.
4. Discussors.
Discussors are usually only presented at special seminar events such as final assignments
or research seminars. For this reason the discussors does not have to be in seminar.
5. Master of Ceremonies (MC).
The master of ceremonies (MC) functions are to open the seminar, introduce the
presenter, discussers, moderators, and notulen. The MC is also the one who closing the
seminar.
6. Audiences.
Audiences is one of the participants that must be present in every seminar. Audiences
usually acts as listener and responds to what has been delivered by presenter. To provide
a response, audiences must pay attention and follow the rules and guidelines that
provided by moderator.
