Data Gathering Tool/s

The following materials will be used to conduct the study

and to describe in a manner on how it will be used in the

procedures.

Periodontal probe specifically World Health Organization

(WHO) periodontal probe will be used to measure the gingival

pocket of the subjects at the first meeting. Oral prophylaxis

instruments will be used to scale and remove the gingival

calculus or plaque of the subjects under groups A2 and B2. This

will involve scalers(Universal scaler), Disclosing solution,

Prophylactic paste, Interproximal cleansers such as floss,

Prophylaxis brush, micromotor or airmotor with contra-angle low-

speed handpiece. Basic instruments also will be included which

includes mouth mirror, explorer, spoon excavator and cotton

plier.

For documentation and photo gathering, cellphone cameras,

patients’ chart and periodontal chart will be used.

Carica papaya pulp as the topical treatment that will be

applied directly to the inflamed gingiva will be a fresh one and

will be put to the refrigerator for preservation. Ripe Carica

papaya will be utilized for the study. Properly sterilized

instruments for chopping and cutting the papaya will be used

such as knife, peeler and cutting board.

Treatment of the Data

 The data that will be gathered for the study will be

treated using the following formula that will help the

researchers in analysis and interpretation of the data.

The ANOVA test will be used in the treatment of the data.
