Cadillac

Cadillac is a company of luxurious cars which are produced and selled by the

American company General Motors. Cadillac is selled in Canada, United States

and Mexico; it is not available in Europe yet.

It was created in Detroit in 1902; it got his name after a French explorer who

founded Detroit.

Cadillac can be related to the American Exceptionalism because its seen as an

American symbol of wealth and status and the company tries to sell a vision of the

American Dream by telling you to work hard and buy expensive cars.

After watching one of their commercials (Cadillac ELR Coupe 2014 Commercial)1
I got the message by Cadillac that Americans are better than some foreigners. And

that is what the American Dream is about, America being better and immigrants

wanting to be like them.

Cadillac is seen as an American Way of life; every year Cadillac lunches a new

type of car, which is more modern and its combined with the newest technology.

Being said this makes you want to be an American because you perceive that you

can reach the happiness. This meaning that you can achieve your dreams and

personal goals. This kind of life is more common of individualism, highlighting the

word “me”. Also the cars are made in the American way, as they want them and

the way they like them.

Capitalism is related to Cadillac because is something you get to yourself and the

government can´t take it from you because you worked to get it.

Methodology

The way I obtained information was first I got into Google and researched about

the company of Cadillac in the official page, Cadillac.com. I read about the history

of how was it created and where was it from. After learning about the company I

searched what Americans thought about Cadillac cars and what was their opinion

about it and most of them were very proud of the American brand and how is one

of America´s most loved brands.
