Part 1

1) Hi, there! I'm Hajar. Thanks for the warm welcome. I had always wanted to be involved in
volunteering work but I didn’t have a chance to do it. When I heard about this, I didn't have to think
twice. Hope you can help me with it.

2) Well, I definitely want to help young learners in speaking skills. It will be a lot of fun games and
activities. I would have xxxx to create a non-threatening environment for them.

3) The funding will be allocated to their need basically. I'm going to provide the facilities needed for them

Guess you've heard the news? This decision is unacceptable. I'm really upset and frustrated. I've wasted
all my time and energy to this annual dinner and out of nowhere they cancelled it. xxx. I’m going to write
to them and suggest they should just continue with the dinner next month.

FORMAL EMAIL

Dear Secretary,

I would like to express my disappointment regarding the cancelation of the annual fundraiser. I am
unhappy that we as the member of the club were not consulted pertaining to the cancelation. I am not
satisfied about the inconvenience this situation is causing me. I strongly hope you will reconsider the
decision. Perhaps you could arrange a meeting with the other members to discuss this matter. I regret
that after years of being a loyal member of this club, I will be force to hand in my resignation due to this
decision. I trust you to arrange the meeting as soon as possible. Thank you for your time.

Dear Hajar,

 Q.3 is too long – 52 words instead of 30-40. This time might have been spent more wisely writing
Email 2, which is the most important one. Also, you didn’t really answer this question, as it was
about the fund allocation, in other words, what the money should be spent on.

 Email 2 has no paragraphs and no ending

 Please look into the grammar mistakes highlighted in yellow- some of them are slightly worrying.
