Additional Tips:

This Quick Guide: W-Fragen helps you learn the main Fragewörter by using a Vorlage, a
model sentence. For each word, memorize the sentence or question and use it as a reference
for creating similar sentences and questions.

Wer is deceiving because it looks like the English “where,” and that’s why we call it a false
friend. It actually means “who.” So when you memorize the rhyming question Wer ist er?,
you can remember that wer refers to a person, thus it must mean “who.”

Associate the 'a' sound of wann with the 'a' sound of Party, and you'll remember it every
time! Wann ist die Party? Heute! Wenn is a conjunction, not a question word!

What is everyone always searching for? Their cell phone. Thus: Wo ist mein Handy?
