 Intrapleural pressure is lowest at the end of inspiration.


 Intra-pulmonary pressure is lowest mid inspiration.
 Intra esophageal pressure is the same as intrapleural pressure
 Airflow is greatest at mid inspiration
 Lung volume/ pressure is different for both inspiration and expiration.
 Carboxyhemoglobin and carbaminohemoglobin are different.
 CO2 content in arterial blood is twice that of O2. (500 vs 200)
 During exercise, ventilation is higher than perfusion hence big V/Q ratio.
 Dead space increases during inspiration.
 O2 levels must fall below 15% to stimulate increased ventilation
 Compliance of lung is greatest at tidal volume
 Compliance is greater in adults than infants.
 Pulmonary pressure is less than systemic but the blood flow is the same.
