The part of medicine involved with the examination, treatment, and
prevention of diseases of the skin, hair, and nails.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
● Have a high school diploma

● Complete a bachelor's degree

● Graduate from medical school

● Complete an internship

● Pass a state licensing exam

● Complete a residency program in dermatology

● Pass additional exams to become board certified


STEP 1: APPLY TO A UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE
GRADE 11
1. Any English Language Arts 11 or any English First
Peoples 11
2. A language 11 or waiver (includes all second language
courses, including all Indigenous languages of
Canada, but excludes introductory Grade 11 language
courses)
3. Chemistry 11
4. Physics 11
5. Pre-Calculus 11 or Foundations of Mathematics 12
GRADE 12
1. English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12
2. Pre-Calculus 12 (minimum 67%)
3. Anatomy and Physiology 12 (Biology 12),
Chemistry 12, or Physics 12
STEP 2: PICK A BACHELOR

In order to get into medical school you have to take the MCAT. you need a score above 124 in
each of the 4 sections to be eligible. In total you need 90 credits before you get into medical
school.

Year 1: General Studies (Learning about medical subjects)

Year 2: Courses (designed to move students closer to future career)

Year 3: Clinical rotations (designed to help students get used to environment)

Year 4: Applying to Residency Programs (the most unique and fun year!)
Now you will become a general practitioner and must earn your place in your desired field.
