Battle
Battle
Genesis Cave.
NOTE: if you just don't want to deal with it at all, you can apply the little patch
I have provided (StunningSteel - easyGC.ips) which alters the Rocket Admin's team
and knocks everyone down a few levels. In the new team, Salamence has turned into a
Sunflora and Houndoom has been usurped by a nasty Dunsparce. Use Steelix for Crobat
(changed him to HP Dark). Use Hitmonlee or anything else for Porygon2. Use a wild
Gastly for Snorlax.

-----------------------------------------
General:
- if you don't mind trying multiple times, hax your way to a W with Mud Slap/Sand
Attack/Smokescreen, ThunderWave, Spore
- bring a lot of items (Revive, Fresh Water, Lemonade)
- my no Gastly/Venusaur run cost me 12 revives and 5 FWs)
- my no Venusaur run cost me 0-5ish revives and 0-5ish FWs (Gastly ftw)
- consider using less straightforward strategies, e.g. instead of directly doing
damage:
- indirect damage: Leech Seed!!, poison, burn, sandstorm
- focus on incapacitating his pokemon first:
- Status: Spore (Venusaur, Breloom), Thunder Wave (Move Tutor in Silph
Co)
- Stats: Sand Attack/Mud Slap (wild dugtrio), Charm (Eevee), Screech
(Steelix), etc
- stall: survive until they run out of power points (PP)
- using items (revive, Fresh Water/Lemonade)
- switching: e.g., against Porygon2 you can switch between Steelix and
someone who resists Ice like Lapras
- wall: look for weaknesses in their sets and try to find a pokemon that
counters them
- e.g., a level 15 Gastly freshly caught completely destroys Snorlax
- consider using battle items (e.g. X Defend) - honestly I've never done this, but
they could theoretically help you overcome 4-move-syndrome.
- Exploit the most broken combo in StunningSteel (that I'm aware of): Drought
Charizard/Ninetales + Chlorophyll Venusaur with Spore = your opponent is always
asleep. (Early Bird Houndoom being the one exception in this battle)
