Production Research Summary:

Having this research added layers to my character. I was able to embody her better,

because this role includes state of being and the circumstances. There’s a lot that this character

has gone through, that I have to be able to convey. Researching psychological shock was very

necessary. I’ve gone through loss, but not as close as Jennifer has. Looking at these websites that

describe the aftermath of the effects and how the person feels in the moment, was so helpful

because it gave me ideas of what to do during the scene. I made sure the research the place

Watkins Glen, NY, the falls, and the places where the wedding would be. Finding a place that

would match the description in the play was hard, but once I found the image, I was able to bring

the image with me into rehearsal. This helped me visualize the wedding more and the cliff.

Another part of my research was drones, because I had to imagine what the drone would look

like and how big it was. I really wanted to know for myself because I wonder how sharp the

turbines would be and how much damage it could do. Ultimately, I used the majority of my

research for music of the universe of my character. I needed this so that I can get into the mindset

of the character off stage. Listening to these lyrics helps me get into the world of Jennifer. I’ve

always thought about doing this, but never spent the time. I want to do it from now on, because it

really helps me. Overall, this research was super beneficial because it helped me better

understand the reality of this character, find more within this character, and how she is or isn’t

like me.
