BASIC LABOR LAW TITLE I

Labor laws clarify and codify business owners' obligations to their employees.
The labor movement has a long history of lobbying for laws that protect worker's rights,
improve worker safety, prevent child labor and increase workers' bargaining power
relative to their employers.

In this BLL Title I, I’ve learned the coverage of this law: Working Hours,
Overtime, and Coverage of Other Mandatory Labor Rights. There are 2 labor law that
caught my attention. The first one is the, right to service incentive leave, for me this law
employees with healthy work-life balance can better focus on their job because they will
have fewer personal problems as they can spend more time to attend to their personal
and family matters. It will affect their positive outlook in life and positive attitude at work.
It will benefit the both employee and employer and also our economy. The second one
is the overtime work, the most obvious advantage of mandatory overtime for employees
is the extra cash. Because employees are required to be paid time and a half
for overtime hours, employees make extra money on paychecks when overtime was
required.
