IGF-C5 IMS Traffic Flow

If the international carrier is connected to IGF via TDM connection, the IP signaling is converted to TDM
signaling via I-MGW.. If the international carrier is connected to IGF via IP connection, the IP signaling
from private network is converted to public network via I-SBC.

If the international carrier is connected to IGF via TDM connection, the media traffic will be transferred
from the ingress I-MGW to the egress I-MGW facing the TDM connection to Carrier for IP-TDM media
conversion. If the international carrier is connected to IGF via IP connection, the media traffic will be
transferred from the ingress I-MGW to the egress I-SBC facing the public IP connection to carrier for
private IP to public IP media conversion.

If the international carrier is connected to IGF via TDM connection, the signaling traffic will be converted
to IP signaling by Msoftx3000 and routed via the SIP-I connection to XGCF. If the international carrier is
connected to IGF via IP connection, the signaling traffic will be transferred from the ingress I-SBC to
Msoftx3000 for Publi to Private IP network conversion, and Msoftx3000 further routed via the SIP-I
connection to XGCF.

If the international carrier is connected to IGF via TDM connection, the media traffic will be transferred
from the ingress I-MGW to the egress I-MGW facing the SIP-I connection to XGCF, where the RTP media
traffic communication is directly between egress I-MGW and the access media gateways (i.e: MSAN,
MGW, ASBC). If the international carrier is connected to IGF via IP connection, the media traffic will be
transferred from ingress I-SBC to the egress I-MGW facing the SIP-I connection to XGCF, where the RTP
media traffic communication is directly between egress I-MGW and the access media gateways (i.e:
MSAN, MGW, ASBC).

TDM is used for long-distance communication links and bears heavy data traffic loads from end users.
