Metacognitive Reading Report 3

According to a source found on the internet, transnationalism refers to the diffusion and
extension of social, political, economic processes. Transnational citizens is indeed no more a foreign word.
It is more likely renowned as immigrants who wishes to adapt into a different environment or country
with different lifestyles but wishes to submerge themselves within to be a greater whole or a part of the
community.

Reading the article made me realize that there are countereffects in the industry if more and more
units or families decide to shift to a different location it affects diverse areas of international governance
including interstate politics. People are mainly driven by individualistic calculations of advantage causing
the to move to an area which is considerably wealthier in state. Also, this type of globalization process
has varying predictable consequences and one of which was clearly explained in the article where people
that have gone abroad pre-socializes future immigrants in what to expect of their lives abroad, and
increases the drive to move through the growing, gap between local realities and imported consumption
aspirations. With the capacity to obtain experiences from each side of the world, the rate of globalization
increases as everyone aspires to be better than their current situation. This leads to the creation of new
technologies, as therefore a part of globalization.

This article was written more than 20 years ago so some of the ideas here are already occurring
in the present world. The phenomenon mainly talks about the pessimist side of globalization but at the
same time, it has its advantages. I used to think negatively about the people that are moving and migrating
to other areas, but the article made me realize that they are essential part of the globalization process.
This helps people make more connections and increase the competitiveness of the people to be a part of
the better community and believe that they are able to improve their current status. These communities
represent a distinct phenomenon at variance with traditional patterns of immigrant adaptation.
