Electric kettle
Electric kettle sometimes called tea kettle is a type
of pot, typically metal, specialized for boiling water,
with a lid, spout and handle.

Uses of a Electric kettle

To boil water
To make tea
How does it work
When you plug the kettle into an electrical outlet, a
large electric current flows into the heating
element. The element's resistance ( the tendency
any material has to stop electricity flowing through
it) turns the electrical energy into heat.

The difference between an electric kettle and other

kettle is the heating element.
It can resists the flow of electricity. When there is
flow into the resistors, it will convert into heat that
will heat up the water container as the body of the
kettle that can occupied the water in it.And the top
of the body must be covered. There must be a
switch on/ off button outside the body to control
thermostat. To undergo the heating process you
must make sure the power is switch on so that
there is present of electric current.
The water at the bottom of the firstly will gain heat
as the heating element at the bottom of the kettle.
The heating flowing current in the heating element
turn the electrical energy into heat energy.
How heat is transfer in electric kettle

When plugged in the circuit the electrical energy

from the circuit moves into the heating element of
the kettle and then turns into heat energy.
The water at the bottom firstly will gain heat since
it has direct contact with heating element, the heat
going through the water by conduction then start
to warm the water. The warmer water density
decreases and the hotter particles rises to top of the
kettle then the cooler less molecules move into
replace the hotter particles. This cycle will continue
until all the water inside the kettle achieve the
same temperature.
NB:When the temperature reach the same the
steam produced will hit the bimetallic thermostat it
will snap and flex in opposite direction then it will
push a lever that trip the circuit to cut the current
and safety switches off.
