This book contains reviews of the best available literature on small-scale
technology, especially for use in developing countries. Use the table of contents and
the index to find reviews on specific topics of interest.
In most cases, ordering information is provided after the title. In some cases,
abbreviations are used for publishers; see the chapter titled “Book Ordering” for the
full addresses of these publishers.
This book can also be used as an index to the Appropriate Technology
Microfiche Library, a complete low-cost library that contains most of the books
reviewed here. See the appropriate chapter for instructions on how to use the A.T.
