INTRODUCTION & RATIONALE (Melina Gorgonia & Sandra Josol)


A. The list of problems that the barangay encounters.
1. The barangay is considered to be one of the dirtiest area in the province.
2. The dengue and other epidemic are prevalent in the area because of the unhygienic
surroundings.
3. Some of the drainage canals are clogged by plastics.
4. The garbage such as plastics are the root cause why the barangay consistently
experiences a flashflood.
5. Many individuals are not aware about the underlying consequences of their actions
towards the environment.
6. Most of the population, though already educated about the current situation of the
environment, still needs convincing to take actions.
7. There is a need to teach them some ways on how they’d be able to minimize the
waste in their barangay and maximize their resources.

B. The proposed solutions for the barangay’s dilemma. (SANDRA JOSOL)

C. The following are the reasons why there is a need for the barangay to approve the
proposal.
1. Through eco-bricks, it will help the barangay lessen the quantity of plastic-waste.
2. It will help them improve their quality of life through having a clean surroundings.
3. It will help them combat infections and diseases that primarily caused by dirty
environment.
4. The cases of flashfloods in the are will be reduced if the proposal is implemented.
5. Even if the making of the eco-bricks in the barangay is just a small act, it has a great
impact towards environmental sustainability and the preservation of the resources.
6. Individuals will likely to become more mindful of their actions towards the
environment.
7. Making eco-bricks can also support them in generating an income.
8. It only incurs a small amount of budget for the implementation of the said proposal
yet it offers many benefits.
