A popular explanation of the term CSR is the continuing commitment by businesses to

ORGANIZATION STUDY ON VMD TECH SYSTEMS PVT LTD
BANGLORE

behave ethically and contribute to economic development, while improving the quality of life
of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large.
Over the last years an increasing number of companies worldwide started promoting their
business through Corporate Social Responsibility strategies because the customers, the public
and the investors expect them to act sustainable as well as responsible.

In some cases, CSR is a result of a variety of social, environmental and economic pressures
while some other cases many large corporations, it is primarily a strategy to divert attention
away from the negative social and environmental impacts of their lives. It enables the
company to leverage its products, employee strength, networks and profits and up to some
extent to create a sustainable change for marginalized communities. Despite certain criticisms
on the CSR activities, more and more companies in the world are inclined towards corporate
social responsibility.

The CSR Executives have the task of reconciling the various programs, quantifying their
benefits, or at least sketching a logical connection to the business, and securing the support of

Microsoft

One small word of caution-remembers the old saying: "When the only tool/platform you have
is a hammer, everything looks like a pin." Dot Net is a great and vast platform to develop
applications. Of course, while you're learning, feel free to do everything with Dotnet; just
remember that when the time comes to put your skills into practice, you should always use
the best platform for the job.
This site is intended to teach you how to program, to teach you new& fresh tips of .net
technologies. However, if you have experience on .Net Technologies, you will find this site to
be an invaluable resource. Ideally, when you are facing a problem, this site will contain tips
& tricks that provide the solution, or at least it will point you in the right direction. Rather,
you must use them and experiment with them by writing code, code, and more code.

Dot-NET and Ecommerce

ORGANIZATION STUDY ON VMD TECH SYSTEMS PVT LTD
BANGLORE

Today, many businesses implement ecommerce solutions such as selling books, music, and
computer hardware. Dot-NET doesn't necessarily change the nature of these existing
businesses. However, dot-NET can make it is easier to start new small businesses and allow

Customers to more easily find these businesses online. Microsoft is an active participant in
efforts to develop the Universal Discovery, Description, and Integration (UDDI) system that
could turn out to be a worldwide registry service for dot-NET applications.
In addition to a standard discovery mechanism for services, dot-NET also may further the
development of automatic usage tracking and micropayment systems. A key element of the
dot-NET initiative is the establishment of a computational "nervous system" through which
all network traffic passes in a managed way. Microsoft hopes to achieve this through the
development of standard Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and also through their
ownership of managed Web server farms.

Software development models:

Several models exist to streamline the development process. Each one has its pros and
cons, and it is up to the development team to adopt the most appropriate one for the
project. Sometimes a combination of the models may be more suitable.

Applications are usually developed in the Java programming language using the Android
Software Development Kit, but other development tools are available. As of October 2012,
more than700,000 applications have been developed for Android, with over 25 billion
downloads. A June2011 research indicated that over 67% of mobile developers used the

Payment Product Development

VMD Technologies can assist your company through every stage of the product development
process, whether you are looking to develop a new payment product such as a private label
debit card, or reposition a current payment option.
Product Development and Repositioning

Customers have many options when deciding how to pay for goods and services. When
creating or repositioning payment products, your company needs to ensure that it will drive
loyalty within your customer base.

Over the last 3 years, the sector has developed a more modern outlook. The government
introduced several reforms to liberalise, regulate and enhance the country's financial services
by embracing best international practices. The results have been encouraging, with India
today globally recognised as among the most vibrant and transparent capital markets
regarding market efficiency and transparency.

While challenges still remain for the future, the prospects for India's financial services are
brighter than ever before.

CHAPTER -3

Mckensy’s 7s framework with special reference to organization under study.

The McKinney’s 7S Framework suggests that there is a multiplicity of factors that influence
an organization’s ability to change and its proper mode of change. Because of the
interconnections of the variables, it would be difficult to make significant progress in one
area without making progress in the others as well. There is no starting point or implied
hierarchy in the shape of the diagram, and it is not obvious which of the seven factors would
be the driving force in changing a particular organization at a certain point of time. The
critical variables would be different across organizations and in the same organizations at
different points of time.

Fig; McKinney’s 7s Framework design

The above fig related to the

Hard:- elements are feasible and easy to define or identify in an organization as they are
normally well documented and seen in the form of tangible objects or reports such as strategy
statements, corporate plans, organizational charts and other documents, and the management
can directly influence them.
ORGANIZATION STUDY ON VMD TECH SYSTEMS PVT LTD
BANGLORE

Soft:- elements, on the other hand, can be more difficult to comprehend, and are less tangible
and more influenced by culture. However, these soft elements are as important as the hard
elements if the organization is going to be successful.

1. Strategy – Strategy is the plan of action an organisation prepares in response to, or

anticipation of, changes in its external environment. Strategy is thought-out, well-structured
and often practically rehearsed and is differentiated from tactics or operational actions. It
sought to answer three questions; where the organisation is at this moment in time, where the
organisation wants to be in a particular length of time and how to get there. Thus, strategy is
designed to transform the firm from the present position to the new position described by
objectives, subject to constraints of the capabilities or the potential.

2. Structure – Business needs to be organised in a specific form of shape that is

generally referred to as organizational structure. Organisations are structured in a variety of
ways, dependent on their objectives and culture. The structure of the company often dictates
the way it operates and performs. Traditionally, the businesses have been structured in a
hierarchical way with several divisions and departments, each responsible for a specific task
such as human resources management, production or marketing. Many layers of
management controlled the operations, with each answerable to the upper layer of
management. Although this is still the most widely used organisational structure, the recent
trend is increasingly towards a flat structure where the work is done in teams of specialists
rather than fixed departments. The idea is to make the organisation more flexible and devolve
the power by empowering the employees and eliminate the middle management layers.

3. Systems – This refers to some systems or internal processes to support and implement
the strategy and run day-to-day affairs. Different systems exist in companies for
procurement, recruitment, promotion and so on. The traditional approach
is bureaucratic which are intended to achieve maximum effectiveness but however creating
bottle neck. The emerging trends in organisations are to simplify and modernize
organizational processes by innovation and use of new technology to quicken decision-
making process, especially those involving customers with the intention to make the
processes that involve customers more user friendly.

4. Staff – Organisations are made up of humans and it’s the people who make the real
difference to the success of the organisation in the increasingly knowledge-based society.
The importance of human resources has thus got the central position in the strategy of the
organisation, away from the traditional model of capital and land. In order to ensure quality
staff, organisations put considerable efforts into hiring the best staff, providing them with
ORGANIZATION STUDY ON VMD TECH SYSTEMS PVT LTD
BANGLORE

rigorous training and mentoring support, and pushing their staff to limits in achieving
professional excellence, and this forms the basis of these organizations strategy
and competitive advantage over their competitors. It is also important for the organisation to
instill confidence among the employees about their future in the organisation and future
career growth as an incentive for hard work.

5. Style – Organizational style refers to distinct culture and management style in

organizations. It generally includes the dominant values, beliefs and norms which develop
over time and become relatively peculiar to the organisation. It consists of the way
company’s top management interact the employees. Traditional approach has been largely
military style of management and culture where strict adherence to top-down management,
concentrating power at the center, thereby creating bottlenecks which invariably leads to time
wastage and inefficiency. Recent efforts have sought to change culture to a more open,
innovative and friendly environment with fewer hierarchies and smaller chain of command.
Culture remains an important consideration in the implementation of any strategy in the
organisation.

6. Shared Values – All members of the organisation share some common fundamental
ideas or guiding concepts around which the business is built. This may be to make money or
to achieve excellence in a particular field. These values and common goals keep the
employees working towards a common destination as a coherent team and are important to
keep the team spirit alive. The organisations with weak values and common goals often find
their employees following their own personal goals that may be different or even in conflict
with those of the organisation or their fellow colleagues.

7. Skills – Skills refers to various distinctive capabilities of key personnel and the unit as
a whole. Staff without the right skills to perform any tasks can create several problems for the
operations and may results into big disasters. Technology is improving our working
environment and new skills needed to be developed into existing staff to fulfill their
gaps. Skill development through training’s can help the staff to have the right skills to
perform their tasks.

SWOT ANALYSIS

Swot analysis is a commonly used business tool that can help boost future business
performance. It helps identify how certain internal and external factors affect business. Small
and big companies rely on this technique. The traditional SWOT analysis can also help web
start-ups.
Web start-ups often use SWOT to find out how user-friendly a website is. In this age of
digital advancement, organizations continually seek new ways to improve their web. They
wish to enhance user experience. Many of them are perhaps unaware of the best alternatives.

SWOT is a structured planning method. It is commonly used to evaluate four factors. The
factors evaluated are Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. These are classified
into Internal and external factors. Strengths and weaknesses are internal factors. Company
has control over these. As firms cannot control opportunities and threats, they are external
factors. The analysis helps companies involved explore what they are good at and what they
can improve.
Most founders, top management, strategists and C-level executives know how SWOT
analysis aids to understanding better and position their companies. In fact, it is essential for
the organizational decision-making process.

In this article, I will explore how SWOT can help in the vast world of internet. It might
seem surprising to many that web start-ups conduct SWOT. They enjoy great benefits of the
analysis. One of the most common uses of the analysis amid web start-ups is to find out how
their website is performing on User Experience, also called UX, in comparison to other sites.
Like traditional SWOT, SWOT for web start-ups examines the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and threats of your product. In this case, the website is the product. Website
owners gain a clearer understanding of what they need to improve. Common goals for web
start-ups are:
 To achieve a higher conversion rate
 Boost sales
 Earn more profits.

1) STRENGTH:-

• Easy adaptability by Non-Technical person(End-user)

• Provides structure to inexperienced staff.

ORGANIZATION STUDY ON VMD TECH SYSTEMS PVT LTD
BANGLORE

• No planning needed.

• Works well for small projects with fixed and clear requirements.

• Milestones are well defined and understood.

• Sets requirements stability.

• Good for management control (plan, staff, track).

• Works well when quality is more important than cost or schedule.

• Each phase has well defined inputs and outputs.

2) WEAKNESS:-

• All requirements must be known upfront.

• Deliverables created for each phase are considered frozen inhibits flexibility.

• Longest tangible delivery time. The customer does not see anything but the whole product
when it’s ready.

• It can give a false impression of progress.

• Does not reflect problem-solving nature of software development. i.e iterations of phases.

• Integration is one big bang at the end.

• Little opportunity for customer to preview the system.

• Unsuitable for large projects and where requirements are not clear.

3) OPPORTUNITIES:-

• Requirements are very well known.

• Product definition is stable.

• Technology is understood.
ORGANIZATION STUDY ON VMD TECH SYSTEMS PVT LTD
BANGLORE

• New version of an existing product.

• Porting an existing product to a new platform.

• Helpful for developing similar type of software

4) THREAT

 Indirect competitors entering the industry to present direct competition

 Competitor’s exclusive social media engagement

 Unique app function by competitor

“Looking forward, fiscal 2015 will be an exciting year for Absolute. We’ve sharpened our
focus, and will deliver on key initiatives,” stated Mr. Haydon. “This includes concentrating
on the growth of Computrace, which is perfectly positioned to provide a persistent and
effective response to the data and security risks inherent to a mobile workforce. This will also
involve leveraging our persistence technology – and existing customer base – to cross-sell
our Absolute Manage and Absolute Service offerings. We will invest selectively in product
market segments that provide optimum return on investment. We will execute tightly against
the renewal and expansion of existing customer relationships, and the development of new
ones. The entire Absolute team is energized as we head into the new fiscal year.”

“The board of directors recognizes the tremendous opportunity ahead of us, as well as our
strong current financial position and ability to continue to generate strong operating cash
flow,” continued Mr. Haydon. “As such, the board of directors has resolved to increase our
quarterly dividend going forward from $0.06 to $0.07 per common share.”

CHAPTER -6

Conclusion:

The total period while we were visiting VMD tech Systems Bangalore was very pleasant to
us. It will help us a lot in future life. Without the practical knowledge it is quite impossible to
develop quality software. This industrial tour has paved the way to look into the development
environment and marketplace. The market does not depend on only developing quality
application. It is a lot more things than those. First we have to specify what we have to
develop, for whom, why and how. Understanding the user’s mind and their requirements a
software engineer has to think about new software. They gave a lot of good advice that we
will take with us as we prepare to enter the workforce after graduation.

The age is totally dependent on modern information technologies. Nobody can escape away
from it. Our one step to invent new technology can take the whole world a step forward.
