 As we know technological,structural &


environmental changes occurs at faster rate in a
market so we have to change ourself according to
the need and to achieve our specific goal as we
want.There are two categories of skills

 1)Managerial skills
 2)Technical skills
Managerial skills have further includes listening skills,motivating
skills,plannning & organizing skills ,problem solving and also a
decision making skills etc.These skills can be enhanced by
arranging & organizing events,programs & socialization
etc.Implication for managers: By designing effective performance
appraisal system which have training & these kind of facilities will
upgrade the employees to fulfill the demands of market.The lower
level of employees have to work hard to gain more technical
skill,s.Because as they move higher, they have more responsibility
on their shoulders & to have more human relations and
conceptual skills.
IMPROVING QUALITY AND
PRODUCTIVITY

 Quality is a degree of excellence of something . Improving productivity


and quality can be difficult because sometimes there exist so many
solution .You cannot tell always which solution is right for you at specific
time . There are few different approaches that may become easy to
implement e.g.
 Getting your employees on board.
 Engage your staff to work hard.
 Consider a profit sharing plan.
 Make better use of data.
So to improve the quality and productivity
we have to observe & work on these key
points.In order to improve quality and
productivity managers are implementing
program like total quality management &
reengineering programs.
Total Quality Management(TQM)

 It is a PHILOSOPHY of management that is driven by


the constant attainment of customer satisfication
through continious development of all this process.

 Intense focus of the customer.


 Concern for continual development .
 Improvement in quality of all things that
organization does .
 Accurate measurement and empowerment of
employees.
EMPOWERING PEOPLE

 Today change is an ongoing activity for most


managers. Managing in the past could be
characterized by:
 1)Long periods of stability.
 2)Interrupted occasionally by short periods of change.
 But managing today could be described as:
1)Long periods of on going change
2)Interrupted occasionally by short periods of stability
 The world that most managers and employees face
today is that of permanent temporariness. There is
permanent change in the jobs themselves, so workers
need to continuously update their knowledge and skills
to perform new jobs requirements. Today managers and
employees must learn to cope with temporariness. They
have to live with flexibility and unpredictability.
STIMULATING INNOVATION AND
CHANGE

 Now a days successfully organizations innovation and change


 Success go to those that maintain flexibility .
 Success will go to those organizations which improve their quality and
providing constant stream of innovative products
 Example:Compac succeeded because they create powerful devices like PC
for same or less money than other Big Organizations like Apple.
 Implication Arrival of New System replaced the basic function of business
.Example.Books are only sold through internet .
 internet selling an organizations employees can be the impetus for innovation
and change.The main challenge for manager is to arrouse employee s
creativity.
