Mary is the
Mother of
Perpetual
Help. She
help
those
people in
need. She
help us
human to
become
closer to
God.
Through her
we
became
united
with God. We are lucky enough to have a mother like Mary. That is why she deserved to be
glorify and adore.

We should be thankful to Mary for without her help we will not be saved from our sins. Mary is
our bridge to our salvation.

And one way to thank her is I would like to offer my help by doing a corporal and spiritual works
of mercy .So as an offering to Mary I will give drink to the thirsty and comfort the sorrowful.I
hope that with these small things I will do Mary will be happy in heaven seeing me helping
others in my own little ways.

Spiritual Works of Mercy- Comfort the Sorrowful

It was Saturday in the afternoon at 3:00 pm when I and my classmates agreed to went to the
house of bereaved family of June. His mother died last August 29,2019 about 2am. Right after
our class in Business Finance, we immediately ride a motorcycle going to livestock terminal.
While waiting for the bus,we eat rambutan . Its getting late so we decided to find a motorcycle
going to Lapinig. We are eight riding the motorcycle so I have to sit on my classmate legs to fit
in. It was 3:30 when we left the terminal. It was a rainy afternoon and the weather is really bad.
On our way an 8 -wheeler truck got stock on the highway and it cause traffic. And we are
thankful that we get rid of it and we go on. The air was so fresh, the tiny drop of the rain that
touches my skin was so relaxing. We almost got lost so we keep calling June asking the exact
location of their house. It was 4:00 pm when we arrive. There I saw June sitting in a bench
watching us approaching towards him. We greeted him hi and said the same way too. He was
smiling trying to hide the pain he was feeling . He immediately took us to the coffin of his
mother. There were few guest and I recognized Junes' father , they look the same. We greeted
his father and offered us to take our sits. I said thank you but I have to look first on the coofin to
have a glance with his wife. She was in her old age dress in white. I offer my prayer,and may she
rest in peace .

I talked to June,I heard how sorry he was for not being there when his mother died. I told him
its not his fault at all and no one should be blame for what had happened. Her days come to an
end. She may be gone but the memories she had with June will remain forever in his heart. June
said that he missed his mother so much. He lost a friend , a mother and a protector.

June almost decided to stop schooling. But I told him that he should not stop schooling. His
mother will not be happy if he do that.It's really hard to accept the reality of loosing someone
but it's reality.People come for a reason and leave for a reason. For surely her mother leave this
Earth for a reason .I knew how much June had missed his mother.

Since its about to nightfall, we told June together with his fathet that we are about to go home .
And we really felt sorry for their loss. We wave our hands as we say goodbye.

Reflection

It's really hard loosing someone in our life. The death of June's mother is very painful
experience in his life. He felt sad and hopeless that he almost decided to stop schooling. So as a
friend of him, I gave him pieces of advice and tried to comfort him. I know its hard but he need
to be strong enough for himself. He need to continue his life and reach his dream .

Talking to June enlightens my mind, how important our mother in our life. He made me realize
that I should love and respect more my mother. June show me that I should be grateful enough
for having my parents around so cherish every moment for it will not come back.I showed my
empathy towards June in return he had shared to me his learnings in life that was really
heartaching.
The spiritual works of enlightens my mind and soul that sometimes we need to experience bad
for us to realize that we need to be strong to face the battle of our life. We need to ask the help
of Mary our Mother of Perpetual Help so that we face each problem with hope and fai th.

I never had a chance to take a picture with june and his father since it will be insulting for them. I felt a
guilt in my heart that I went there for my own reason. But I was really sincere for coming there to
comfort June .It was not my intention to used them. So I decided not to take photo as sign of respect
instead i took picture with my mother showing how grateful I am with my mom.And ,I went to church to
ask forgiveness and offer my prayers to the bereaved family of June.

Corporal work of Mercy-Give drink to the Thirsty

It was Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm when I was watching TV. A lola called me asking for a glass of water.
So I hurriedly went to the kitchen and get a glass of water. She drinks it immediately. She was not feeling
fine at that time. She told me that she was angry for missing their household prayer meeting. I asked her
why ?And she told me that its because of her daughter.Instead of prioritizing the Lord ,her daughter
prioritize her business leaving her daughter to her. The lola can' t refuse since it was a child.She was
really upset about what had happened. I told her that its ok because she had a good reason. She have to
take care of his apo and God wil forgive her. She should not be ashamed upon arriving late, She is a good
person with pure heart. She almost decided not to attend any prayer meeting anymore. And I told lola
not to do it, maybe she was upset now but it will fade away, its just temporary.I know she had said it
because she was angry. She loved to serve the Lord but sometimes she loosened up her faith at times
like me.

After drinking the water, she said she was thankful for not hesitating on gaving her a glass of water. She
feel relaxed since she had expressed her feelings towards me. She was calmer now.

She didn't stay long in our house, she then left and told me that she feels good at the moment.Then she
go.

Reflection

Each of us has its own story

to tell, we just need
somewhat to talk to and
listened to. I was lucky
enough to have a conversation and hear the story of an old woman whom I used to call "lola".
The story of faith.

There are times in our life that we loosened our faith when we encounter problem . We should
not stop serving our Lord.Whether we fall all we have to do is to stand up and continue .
Problems are always there, its part of life but the most important thing is how we face each
problem with faith, hope and trust.If we are angry at one person then we should tell them. Lets
open up with our feeling for no man is an Island. We need someone to talk to and someone that
will listen to our problem. We need to release the bad thoughts so that we can replace it with
good one.

Drinking a glass of water somewhat gave us refreshing feeling and it neutralizes our mind to
function normally.So whenever someone will ask for a drink don't hesitate to give. Give drink to
the thirsty for what you have done will surely be recognized in heaven. Helping others when
they are in need like what Mary did to us when we ask her help.
