They will need a Chromebook for this activity. Please provide them with the following link as a resource in order to complete this activity. https://www.britannica.com/event/Cold-War Explain to them that they are not reading the entire webpage. Rather they are to spend 20 minutes investigating it together with their group. Distribute Graphic Organizer. Explain that while they browse the webpage they will be looking for 4 causes or actions taken by the Soviet Union, and the result of said action. Each partner provides one action and effect. So every person is responsible for completing a bubble and corresponding effect on the line. Explain grading criteria, they cannot just list 4 causes without effects and receive a passing grade. After 20 minutes the class will open up into a large discussion where the teacher calls upon students at random to share one of the events encountered by their group. Every student called should be able to participate in the discussion because they can draw upon anything listed by their team.
