CHEERDANCE COMPETITION

The first day morning we talked about how we will do for the cheer dance competition. We give
suggestions to make this completion well complete. All are shy to communicate or too talked, because we’re all
not so close by other sections. So Monday afternoon while practicing our cheer dance others were not listening,
it was chaotic, and sometimes it’s noisy. Then it wasn't easy to practice because we didn't fit in the room. When
we are practicing the cheer dance others not like the steps because it’s like a modern dance. So others they don’t
like to follow the steps. Also the song we have was not good, so it was time to talk again and change that song.
When it’s time for break Ma’am Cristy give us free sandwich. Also at the afternoon we do the pom-poms for the
competition, we do this by our own. On the second day of our practice, there were new steps and songs, so they
taught to us immediately to follow the steps and listen carefully. We are all cooperating because it will perform
after the parade tomorrow. So in the afternoon by 4:00pm we practiced at the elementary building, to know how
big will be occupied each members. So on October 25 this is the day that we will have the parade, all of us have
balloons. Also we go early in the school to do the hairstyle of each member of our team. But some of our members
doesn’t have pom poms yet so we are all disconcerted because there’s always a questions in our mind.
Maybe because they couldn't buy a boil, or they couldn't hold it when we danced. We have a lot of fun when the
day start because we’re not expected that everyone will be closed to each other. When the cheer dance is about to
start all of us are nervous, but Sir Roy is on our front to guide us with the steps that we will do. While dancing in
front of many people it’s difficult because if you did not follow correctly the steps you will be the center of
attraction. By the way when doing this performance, everyone became close. Everything we do is agreed upon
correctly. And on Friday night this is the awarding, we didn’t expect that our team will become a Champion.
We’re so happy for this award because even if we have only 1 ½ days of practice we do it well. And even if on
the first day of practice all are no participating, we did it when we performed after the parade. Thank you to our
team advisers Ma’am Cristy and Sir Roy for supporting and helping each other for our team, because they not left
behind no matter what happen. They’re always there for us.
SPORTS

The sports I play is volleyball, since grade 5 this is the game I enjoy. I was even selected to compete at
the unit meet. But it's also been a long time since I've played volleyball. I only play in intramurals, so I have
difficulty getting points especially now that my eyes are dim. It's really hard now because I've never played
volleyball. But I still enjoy it because I get along with others who are not my classmates. In the first game for the
first set we won the second and third we lost. It's sad because we were soaked in the sun and we didn't win the
game. play But Sir Roy says it is all right and we know that you have given all your best.

In the team building all of us was a lot of fun because everyone listened to what the game was supposed
to do. Then everyone was super excited just to motivate our team playing on the court. All the members yelling
to support our team. I play on the ping pong balls and cup, this game is supposedly the game that we play when
we have a Vicariate Youth Day in Calaguiman, so I join in this game because the rules that it have is I really
know, when the game is start the first player is KD he is very fast to run, and me is the second player I enjoy this
game because we are hoping that we will win this game, but when the teacher in the stage that it’s a tie with the
black panther. We’re all disappointed because this is our chance to win but they include 2 winners. But we are
happy and we did not take it negative all the time, because we know that is only a game for fun, team work, and
we think also all the grade 12 students that we need to enjoy every single moment, because this is our last intrams
in St. Catherine of Siena Academy of Samal Inc.

INSIGHTS/ LEARNING

Through these intramurals, I learned that your friends are not always the ones you should be with. Because
there are other people you can talk to and want to be with. You also need to understand their suggestions if you
do. And you learn to associate with other people. Don’t think that they don’t like you, and don't distance yourself
from others. And to this day even the intramurals are over and everyone is still talking. And everyone was learned
that even if you are not a friend or classmate you can be friends with. I'm happy because of this I changed the
behavior I had before. So all the trials that came with it made me think well and not just give up. Even in the game
win or lose don't give up because that's how we learn. No matter how many times you do something there is a
reflection that comes up, sometimes you suddenly give up because you don't trust yourself. So now you can trust
yourself, because you will be supporting yourself in things you were not able to do before. Also you need to
communicate with other and tell them of your story a little bit, by doing that they will understand your situation
you have. And this last intrams in SCSA is unforgettable, because even if they are not my classmates or friends,
they will smile to you or they will talk to you even they don’t need for you. So through this I’m very happy
because I have a lot of friends that I met since the start of intrams.
RECOMMENDATION

I suggest that all students should play even if they are not good at the game they are given. If possible the next
intramurals are the Larong Pinoy/ Filipino Games. Because we know that kids today are just focused on gadgets,
they don't even know the old games. Through this all the students will realize that all the old games is much better.
Because we know that few of them was not familiar on the games that we played before. And with this they will
communicate with others outside. It’s still better to play with people in person. Through personal contact, you
understand each other. It's not like talking with a gadget. Sometimes it's not well understood, so it goes into the
fight. Let us love our own game. Let us not neglect it and not forget it. Because this is the sign that we are born
Filipino. In the Philippines, due to limited resources of toys for Filipino children, they usually invent games
without the need of anything but the players themselves. Their games' complexity arises from their flexibility to
think and act. So this is my recommendation for the next intrams in SCSA. This program aims to bring back the
fun and excitement of Traditional Filipino Games that our parents and grandparents used to play. Play is the way
kids grow, learn and live. As children continue to grow, so do the skills they learn on the playground. From
agility and strength-building to socialization and independence, some of our most important lifelong lessons are
learned outside of the classroom. Larong Pinoy is a Philippine cultural treasure. The purpose in conducting Larong
Pinoy is to revive the games back in the mainstream of society, and to instill fundamental social values among
the new generation of youth.
