I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, student should be able to:

A. Distinguish the four different types of sentences


B. Construct a sentences that corresponds with each of the four types of
sentences

II. Subject Matter

Topic: The four types of sentence

Concept: Sentences allow us to package information so we can express


ourselves clearly and understand what others have expressed. We use
different types of sentences for different purposes, and when we categorize
sentences based on their purpose we get the four types of sentences:
statements, questions, exclamation and commands.

1. What is a sentence?

Activity:
The students will be divided into three groups, each group will be
given a short paragraph and they will write their observation about it
in an empty manila paper poste in the whiteboard.

Analysis:
1. How important punctuation is in a sentence?
2. Does punctuation affect the mood of a sentence or paragraph?
3. What is the essence of understanding the type of sentences?

Abstract:
The teacher will start the formal discussion about the four types of
sentence in relevance to the activity given.

Application:
The student will be given a paragraph that consist of nothing but a
declarative sentence and they will revise it utilizing the four types of sentences.

IV. Assessment

Using the pictures shown on the board, student should be able to construct
declarative, interrogative, imperative and exclamatory sentences.
