The purpose of the observation form is to provide faculty feedback on how they are

performing in their teaching role in comparison with the expectations explicated in


Chapter VII of the BSMCON Faculty Handbook. Faculty are rated on a scale from 1-4 (1-
Entry; 2- Developing; 3- Meets; 4- Exceeds) and are expected to strive for
all categories to be rated as either a 3 (meets basic expectations) or 4 (exceeds basic
expectations). If this rating is not provided on this observation, faculty will be observed in
subsequent semesters for improvement in the category.

Establishes and communicates specific hours when the instructor will be available online (office hours) 4
