Artifact Description: Dream House-Use drawing tools to create a blueprint of your dream house
and get practice in said various drawing tools.

What You Learned: I obtained some in depth practice in using the various drawing tools of
PowerPoint. I utilized a variety of techniques when drawing my lines like copy and paste and
using organizational techniques to draw the lines while keeping my rooms symmetrical. I
struggled a lot with keeping some of my lines on the same level between doorways. By using the
shift key, however, I was able to keep them straight so that I didn’t have a wall sitting a few feet
behind the other. I feel like I was able to gain a good handle on some of the shaping techniques
in this project that I struggled with in the last two. I found this activity to be the most difficult of
the module so far but also one of the most engaging. I think it was a fun and interesting project
that allowed us to use our imaginations without being constrained by hard rules or limitations.
Activities like these can be difficult because so much is left up to the students but also the most
enjoyable and satisfying to complete because of the sense of ownership and thought that went
into it. If I was to increase the difficulty somehow, I would challenge students to make a more
complex floorplan on a bigger space and maybe even have them add some furnishings into the
floor plan as a fun exercise.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future: Through both this assignment and the previous two
in this module I have used and started to master tools and techniques previously unknown to me.
I am excited to use drawing software to create more innovative and effective lessons for my
future students. I think the activities like these make for much more engaging and interesting
lessons for students and for myself as a teacher.
