Significant Weather Features
♦ Under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining West Bengal and Odisha and
another over north Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood enhanced rainfall activity likely over east, adjoining central and north peninsular
India during next 34 days.
♦ Sea conditions are very likely to remain very rough over central Arabian Sea during next 34 days. Fishermen are advised not
to venture into these areas during the specified period.
♦ Heavy to very heavy rain with extremely heavy rain occurred at isolated places over Vidarbha from 0830 to 1730 hours IST
of today.

♦ Rainfall observed (from 0830 to 1730 hours IST of today): Rain/thundershowers observed at most places over Vidarbha,
Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over Lakshadweep and Madhya Pradesh; at isolated places over East
Rajasthan, Saurashtra & Kutch, Marathawada, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra
Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, Tamilnadu & Puducherry, odisha, Gangetic west Bengal and Andaman &
Nicobar Islands.
♦ Minimum temperature departures as on 06072018: Minimum temperatures are above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many
places over East Uttar Pradesh and SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim; at a few places over East Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar,
Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Coastal Andhra Pradesh; at isolated places over West Uttar Pradesh, Assam &
Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and West Madhya Pradesh.They are appreciably below normal ( 3.1°C to
5.0°C) at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh and below normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places
over Andaman & Nicobar Islands ; at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and Telangana; at isolated places over West
Rajasthan and Madhya Maharashtra and near normal over rest of the country.

Meteorological Analysis (Based on 1730 hours IST)
♦ The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level continues to pass through Amritsar,
Chandigarh, Shahjahanpur, Gorakhpur, Nawada, Bankura, Digha and thence Eastsoutheastwards
to East central Bay of Bengal.
♦ The Western Disturbance as a trough with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly
along Long. 72°E to the north of Lat. 32°N persists.
♦ The cyclonic circulation extending upto 2.1 km above mean sea level over eastern parts of
Bihar & neighbourhood persists.
♦ Another cyclonic circulation extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level over east Assam &
neighbourhood persists.
♦ The cyclonic circulation over south Pakistan & neighbourhood between 3.1 & 5.8 km above mean sea level
persists.
♦ The cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal & Odisha
between 3.1 km & 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height persists.
♦ The cyclonic circulation over north Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood between 2.1 km & 4.5 km
above mean sea level persists.
♦ The cyclonic circulation at 7.6 km above mean sea level over Marathwada & neighbourhood
persists.
♦ The feeble offshore trough at mean sea level from south Gujarat coast to north Kerala coast
persists.
Weather Forecast for next 5 days * upto 0830 hours IST of 11th July, 2018
♦ Meteorological subdivision wise detailed 5 days precipitation forecast is given in Table 1.
♦ Maximum temperatures likely to rise by 23°C over plains of northwest India during next 23
days. No significant change in maximum temperature over rest of the country during next 34 days.
