Microsoft Intune helps organizations provide their employees with access to corporate applications, data, and resources
from virtually anywhere on almost any device, while helping to keep corporate information secure. Through integration
with Intune, you can extend your existing System Center 2012 Configuration Manager infrastructure to provide a
consistent management experience across devices from on-premises and in the cloud.
Licensing Overview
Microsoft Intune is a user based subscription service. It is licensed per user per month allowing up to 5 devices per user.
Intune includes on premises use rights for System Center 2012 Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) Client Management
License (CML) & System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection (SCEP) Client Management License (CML). It is available in
following channels:
MPSA: Microsoft Products and Services Agreement; CSP: Cloud Solution Provider; MOSP: Microsoft Online Subscription Program. To learn more about

Yes. However, any x86 PC that is managed (either by System Center Configuration Manager or Microsoft Intune) is a
qualified device under the terms of your Enterprise Agreement and must be appropriately licensed.
Are there any options for Microsoft Intune to buyout the System Center Configuration Manager component
once the service contract has ended?
No, there is no such option for online services.
