Presents...
Best Bets for the Classroom​, highlighting the best recently published
children’s books for grades K-8. Joan gives an in-depth look at the some of
the best new books for our elementary and middle school readers.
Joan Kindig was a professor at James Madison University where she taught Children’s Literature,
Young Adult Literature, and a variety of Reading courses. Joan has been creating an annual “best of
the year” list for over 20 years. In addition, she has served on the Newbery, Caldecott, Carnegie,
and Odyssey Awards committees, and is an incurable bookaholic.

Registration opens at 5:30 PM Lite fare will be served from 5:30 to 6:00

SVRC President will speak at 5:45 Joan Kindig will present from 6:00 to 7:30
