During my time with Hilti, I had the incredible opportunity to work with phenomenal
people. These people are reflective of the organization's efforts to create an incredible

workplace environment and culture. Most importantly, the company provided clear
career planning for all interested individuals and opportunities to grow/relocate. The Account Manager (76)
organization tries to promote from within and the career advancements I experienced

made me a benefactor of this philosophy. The most underrated part of my experience
with Hilti was the work/life balance and autonomy each individual is granted to do their Senior Account Manager (7)

turnover and lack of employee morale are resulting from recent Denver, CO

Sales Manager (Current Employee) – Houston, TX – October 21, 2018 See more HILTI reviews by location
It's sad to see the company where it is right now. Historically, Hilti has been a great
place to work, but with recent changes in management, poor decisions have been
made in employee termination and promotions. People are put on edge and insecurity
in employment is rampant.
Pros
Good benefits, good training, good employee satisfaction focus though it was better in
the past.
Cons
Turnover is currently high, culture has changed with change in management, age is very
important and is considered in employment decisions (the younger the better)
4.0 Hilti was the first compnay who really taught me how to sell
anyting by using your knowledge to educate people to
develope the need
Hilti Account Manager II Commercial OSR (Former Employee) – Richmond, VA – October 19, 2018
Hilti was a very good company to work for and really is credited for turning me into the
educated savy sales rep I am today. They put us thru 3 month
Pros
Company Car, Phone, Laptop, Gas, Meals
Cons
Didnt like the Compnay Cart Transit
Management team keep on changing and they doesn't seems to know what they want.
Although its a MNC, the company operates like a SMC. HR function was in a mess
and there are multiple instance of late & wrong salary payment.
3.0 European and family culture and values, just not applied in the
US.
Account Manager (Former Employee) – SF Bay Area, CA – October 5, 2018
This is a great, terrific, amazingly wonderful company at the global level, but the HNA
market (Hilti North America) has a problem at the upper management level with a
cultural hubris that sets management up to fail, and they fail often and grotesquely.
Outside management is often *highly conceited,* and I can’t stress that enough, as it is
integral to their failure to develop their teams.
Questions and ideas are often met with challenge, which is usually ok, except when
that challenge is presented as personal, and met with contempt, often inexplicably.
The values are presented as similar to the US Navy (Honor, Courage, Commitment),
namely Teamwork, Integrity, Commitment, and Courage. But these values are not
outwardly exhibited by senior management, especially at the Divisional level.
Pros
Great benefits and a family ownership that is dedicated to its people
Cons
Terrible leadership at the upper management level. CEO was great, though.
As an account Manager, you are given all the tools to succeed. Hilti has an amazing
training program, with continous support. Company culture is like a big family, and
your opinions as an employee are truly valued.
Cons
Compensation
Employees at Hilti will agree that it is a great company to be apart of. You will get all of
the tools you need to develop and grow within the organization.
Pros
Benefits, work/home life balance
Pros
culture, benefits
Cons
not having a string Florida presence
A great company. Low pay, too many managers. Good time off and benefits, micro
mgmt, bigtime I enjoyed time working at the company until they treat you like a
20 yr old.
Pros
work life
Cons
pay
The marketing organization for Energy (CE&I) is managed very poorly. The upper
management has no understanding of the energy business and they believe it is the
same as the commercial business.
Management just wants to look at numbers which they believe the only way to
measure the success. These numbers can be inflated artificially. So, if you are good at
making yourself look good with fake numbers, you deserve to get bonus or promotion
.
There is too much competition between team members because the numbers are
always compared with your peers.
3.0 Great place if you can avoid and survive the politics
Senior Manager (Former Employee) – Tulsa, OK – February 23, 2018
Company reputation is second to none in their industry. R&D and innovative products
are superb. Most people are great to work with but there are just enough rotten apples
to spoil the bunch. Work-Life balance is an illusion, a punch line to a sick joke. Some
highly questionable upper level hiring practices (e.g. Director and above) and although
International job opportunities are available, ex-pats are compensated extremely
poorly. Apparently you're supposed to just be thankful for the experience and scenery
around the Rhine Valley. Any discussion of how they expect you to pay rent, feed
yourself and your family is trivial and alarming to them. You are suddenly viewed as
ungrateful and almost made to feel as if you should be paying them for the privilege of
working for them.
Pros
Good benefits, innovative products
Cons
Questionable hiring practices, low pay, managers that play favorites
HILTI company was a great place to work and they live with hilti culture. They had a
good benefits for thier employess, you have the right to express your feeling and
voice out to your managers. Managers and staff there are really good people.
Pros
Free lunch, Quarterly incentives base on you performance
Cons
Insurance, health card, vacation leave and sick leave
Excellent benefits and work-life balance. Competitive and rewarding as well. Great
products and market focus. An excellent market position with many products and
offerings.
Home office requires organization to plan for daily business travel . I "run" my own
business and management is "hands-off" in general but very supportive when needed.
Competitive, fast paced sales environment with daily challenges Most enjoyable is
working for a top-quality globally recognized company with a strong reputation for
service and support.
Pros
work from home, flexible travel, benefits, salary+commissions, career advancement
Cons
overworked- some nights and weekends, very competitive internally and externally
The possibility is there to actually make money however if in a major city the territories
are so close that you will be cut throating your team member who you could like.
Management tries to turn a blind eye to it in the name of business. You are given
simple luxuries as a car and a credit card to do your work however sometimes
becomes headaches and tracking devices. Hilti has now started to increase pay
however the job is amazing in mid size or rural areas than larger cities. They will not
give a compensation change or cost of living difference. You will hold more clients
and accounts than your co-worker and get paid the same rate of pay.
Very diverse customer base covering the entire gamment of the Construction Industry.
Learn much from the customer themselves and sold a very very good and relaible
product
Pros
Dealing with a variety of customers on a very regular basis
Cons
Constant changes in Management.Salary stucture
