4.FIRST AID MEASURES

Eye: In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical
advice.
Skin: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Get medical attention if initation
occurs. Inhalation: Remove to fresh air, if not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing
is difficult, give oxygen and get immediate medical attention.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs naturally, have casually lean forward to
reduce the risk of aspiration. Seek medical immediately.

s.FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Suitable Extinguishing Media : Use water spray, Foam, Dry chemical powder, Carbon
Dioxide. Fire f,rghting procedures :
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing to prevent contact with
skin and eyes

Cleanup Instructions: Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal. Avoid dust
formation. Wear suitable protective equipment. Should not be released into the environment.

Handling: As per good industrial hygiene standards. Use Rubber Gloves, Gogglesfor eyes
protection and Aprons should be used.

Storage : To be stored in properly sealed containers in a clean and dry place with adequate
ventilation. Sensitive to heat above temperature of 40 degrees Centigrade.

8.EXPLO SURE CONTROL S/PERS ONAL PROTECTION

Exposure controls:
Wear suitable Respirator, Safety Goggles, suitable gloves & Aprons. For extra safety use
within fume chambers. Wash thoroughly after handling. Do expose into eyes, on skin &
clothing. Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure. Be particular about using the Safety showers
& eye bath.

Occupational exposure controls: Wear chemical safety goggles. Compatible chemical resistant
gloves.

Summary : Triclosan is not biodegraded in screening level tests due to its anti-microbial
properties and the high concentrations of test substance in these tests. Partially eliminated by
absorption on effluent treatment sludge.
