Description:

The use of film as a learning medium can support teachers and students in the learning process
of speaking English. The use of film media will develop students' English speaking skills,
language content, and vocabulary. can be used as a source of learning to speak. Film media is
a medium of learning that can be directly enjoyed by students in the introduction or
pronunciation of words, phrases, even simple sentences. Film can help students in learning
more expressions in English sentences and students can analyze the structure of the film itself.
In this lesson, The students will watch a movie in class and actively participate in all activities.
Student should prepare a notebook to write vocabularies or expressions in the films they
watch. Depending on the length of the movie and the depth in which the teacher immerses the
students into the material, this could take three class periods or more.

Aims:
1. students can identify the structure of the film

2. Increase students vocabulary

3. Increase students' Speaking skiils

4. learn various expressions in English

Activities

1. Pre- teaching activities


a. Greating the students
b. Check the students attendence
c. Check the students readiness to study
d. review the material that has been studied at the previous meeting.
2. While- teaching activities
a. Build students knowledge and stimulate student imagination with the material given, by
showing fictures of movie. Then, ask students some question like "What is your favorite
movies?", " Have you ever watched Front of Class movie?", "do you know the character in the
movie".
b. Introducing a glimpse of the film to be aired.
c. before showing the movie, I as a teacher will divides the class into small group for discussion
and completing assignments to be given regarding the movie watched by students.
d. students watch the movie until it's finished.
e. after finishing watching, students discuss and then look for English phrases in the films that
have been watched, write down vocabulary that is difficult and often appears in the film.
f. each student is asked to mention one of the expressions or vocabulary they have found.
g. Ask the student what made them interested in the movie.
3. Post - Teaching activity
a. I will review the film that has been aired and briefly tell the synopsis. And review the
pharase/exprassion that has mention by students.
b. and I will explain the moral values of the movies that have been watched so students can be
motivated and get inspiration from the films they have watched.

Evaluation
As a teacher we have to pay attention with the material, madia and activities in the classroom
that can help student to understand the material what they are learning. with apply movies for
media teaching, I believe that can in teaching english, as a teacher we have use approppriate
methods in teaching language skills and movies is one of the appropriate methods to increase
students's speaking skills and increase their vocabulary. but I have to pay more attention to the
suitability of the movie selected for learning media to students and pay attention to how they
react when watching the movie.
