Attendance and Class Participation


As the Venue LC 102 & LC 002 - Class Rooms are biometrically enabled, the attendance is strictly by
biometrics. No manual attendance request is entertained during the semester. 100% Class Participation is
expected from each student. Concessions are granted only for medical reasons as per rules. DX grade is
applicable as per rules.

Course Contents (As per The Courses of Study Bulletin)


Essentials of Process Economics: Time value of money, Simple and compound interest, Capital Cost
Estimation, Location and Inflation corrections, Capacity exponents of major equipment, Annualized Capital
Cost and Capitalized annual cost, Least Annual Cost, Amortization, Depreciation and taxes, Profitability
Chart, Return on investment, Payback Period.

Evaluation
1. Mid-term examination weight 30%
2. End-term examination weight 50%
3. Quizzes, Mini-Projects weight 20%

The Mid-term examination will be conducted after four weeks of instruction. The End-term examination
will be conducted during the End-semester-examination period of Autumn Semester.
