ABSTRAK

Latar Belakang : Dislipidemia adalah kelainan metabolisme lemak yang ditandai


dengan peningkatan atau penurunan fraksi lipid dalam plasma. Labu siam
(Sechium edule) merupakan bahan alam yang memiliki kandungan serat larut
yaitu pektin. Pektin mempunyai efek mencegah penyerapan lemak dan kolesterol.
Tujuan : Mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak buah labu siam (Sechium edule) terhadap
perbaikan profil lipid pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus strain wistar)
dislipidemia.
Metode : True experimental dengan post test only control group design. Sampel
penelitian dibagi lima kelompok. Analisis data menggunakan One way ANOVA,
uji turkey 5%, uji korelasi, dan uji regresi.
Hasil : Pada kadar trigliserida, LDL, rasio LDL/HDL, rasio KT/HDL sig 0.000 <
p (0.05) terdapat perbedaan bermakna. Pada kadar kolesterol total sig 0,060 > p
(0.05) tidak terdapat perbedaan bermakna.
Kesimpulan : Ekstrak labu siam berpengaruh terhadap kadar trigliserida, LDL,
HDL, rasio LDL/HDL, rasio KT/HDL.

Background : Dyslipidemia is a disorder of lipid metabolism characterized by an


increase or decrease in plasma lipid fractions. Chayote (Sechium edule) is a
natural ingredient and has soluble dietary, well known as pectin. Pectin has
signifficant effect of preventing absorption of fat and cholesterol.
Purpose : To investigate the effect of chayote (Sechium edule) extract on the
repairment of lipid profile on dyslipidemia mice (Rattus norvegicus strain wistar).
Method: True experimental with post test only control group design. The samples
were divided in five groups. Data analysis using a One way ANOVA test, turkey
5% test, correlation test, and linier regression test.
Results : At the levels of triglycerides, LDL, HDL, ratio of LDL/HDL, and ratio
of KT/HDL sig 0000 < p (0.05), there is a significant difference. In total
cholesterol sig 0.060 > p (0.05), not significantly different.
Conclusion : Chayote extract effect on improvement of the levels of triglycerides,
LDL, HDL, ratio of LDL/HDL, and ratio of KT/HDL.
