Abstract-A Fast food restaurant also known as quick restaurant service. Within the food service
industry is a specific type of restaurant specified both by its fast food cooking and by minimal table
service. Food served in fast food restaurants is offered from a limited menu, cooked in large quantity
in advance and keep hot, is packaged for order and is usually available ready for delivered though
seating may also be provided. The customers presently spend an average of one hour per day going
to the restaurant, selecting their foods and pay the bill. Few restaurants have the furnishing of
customers devising a call to the restaurant in advance to order a food to be ready for them for to be
delivered to them. Some of the customers do not everytime get the selection they want because the
restaurants run out of certain items or because there is no furnishing of ordering tradition foods. This
project is aimed at developing a complete online ordering system for use in the food service
restaurant which will allow the restaurants to fastly and easily manage an online menu which
customer can access and use to place orders with just a some clicks. The customers will have to
select whether they want the food to be delivered to them or it will be packaged for pick up and the
payment method will be upon food delivery. There will be a system administrator who will have the
right to add and manage user accounts, a manager who will be managing menus and orders and last
but not least a food deliverer who will be dealing specifically with pending deliveries. The customer
will be in a step to view the menu, register and place an order. There will be a acceptance receipt for
each and every order create by the customer which can be printed.

I. INTRODUCTION
Computers have become part of the life for access almost any kind of information. Life in the 21st
century is full of technological development and in this technological age it is very difficult for any
organization to survive without utilizing technology. The smartphones contributes greatly to the
creation of an ever-increasing global information database. It could also be used as a mechanism to
distribute the information within an enterprise. What I propose is an online ordering system, which is
a technique of ordering meal online applicable in any food delivery industry. The main advantage of
my system is that it great simplifies the ordering process for both the customer and the restaurant.
When the customer visits the ordering app, they are presented with an interactive and up-to-date
menu, complete with all available options and dynamically adjusting prices based on the choose
options. After making a selection, the item is then added to their order, which the customer can
review the details of at any time before checking out. This provides instant visual authentication of
what was selected and ensures that items in the order are, in fact, what was intended.
This system also greatly reduces the load on the restaurant’s end, as the entire process of taking
orders is automated. Once an order is placed on the app, it is entered into the database and then
retrieved, in pretty much real-time, by a admin panel on the restaurant's end. Within this application,
all items in the order are displayed, along with their equivalent options and delivery details, in a

concise and easy to read manner. This allows restaurant employees to fast go through the orders as
they are placed and produce the necessary items with minimal delay and confusion.

II. PROBLEM DEFINITION:

As industries are fast extend, people are searching for more ways to buy foods with much ease and
still maintain cost capability. The owner needs to buy the products in order to sell to the customer.
The manual method of going to their local food sales outlets to purchase food is becoming modern
and more tasking. Food can be ordered through the internet and payment made without going to the
restaurant or the food owner. So there is need for a wide range of publicity and enabling direct order,
processing and servicing of food through online system. For this system, there will be a system
admin who will have the rights to enter the menu with current prevalent cost.

III. OBJECTIVE:
 To combine Wireless technology and IOS OS to automate food ordering process.
 To minimize the imperfection in conventional system by reducing the working of a restaurant.
 To make provisions for obtaining feed-back from the customers and provide the restaurant a means of
review of their service.
 To utilize wireless communication and smart phone technology in implementing the automated
system.
 To make more user interfaces friendly and customization for the restaurant owner to update the menu
content on the customer devices.
 To enable real-time feedback between the restaurant owner and customers on the order status.

IV. LITERATURE SURVEY

Previous Food Order Process
1)FULL SERVICING RESTAURANT: Tradition food order process used in most full-servicing
restaurants starting when a waiter brought the customer the paper-based menu, and then waiting for
the customer to choose food from the menu and inform the waiter the order foods. The process
typically required the customer to be seated in the restaurant and a waiter to assist the ordering .One
of the most broadlyused food ordering system is the common paper based system. In this system all
records are stored on paper. The main disadvantage of this system is papers can get easily lost or
imperfect. There is also wastage of time, money and paper. Paper-based systems do not provide any
form of charismatic. Even a small change requires the re-print of whole menu-card. Also large
amount of human exertion are required, this system is not work properly because it has some fault
and from a customer’s point of view it is time consuming.
2)SELF SERVICING RESTAURANT: This process required the customer to place order at the
servicing counter in the restaurant. The customer shall have decision in advance, before presented at
the counter, of which menu items to order. Menu card is mostly presented as sheet placing behind the
order counter.
3)AUTOMATED FOOD ORDERING SYSTEM: In order to reduce service cost and enhance
customer experiences, some restaurants have invested in the service automation system. The
automation system used to catching the food order from customers order in many forms but mostly
consists of an electronic of conductive material. One more drawback of capacitive touch screen is it
is costly, offers less constancy and short life. The disadvantages of resistive touch screen include its
inefficacy to support multi-touch signal, its poor visualness in direct sunlight and its less constancy.
The technology can be impressible to data-noise; it may be affected by large amounts of impurity
and dust in the environment.

Figure 1: Architecture of Online Food Delivery System.

Figure 1 shows the system architecture of online food delivery app, which owner which cover three
main areas of the restaurant: the serving area, the restaurant owner’s working desk (cashier table),
and the kitchen. Conceptually, the food delivery app is built on four main components:
 The mobile application on the smart phones for customers to make order
 The web-based application and server on the laptop for restaurant owner to keep track and
respond to receivedcustomers’ orders, and customize menu information.
 The database for restaurant owner to store order details, and updated menu information.
 The wireless infrastructure to support networked communications.
Essentially, the system architecture promotes portability, as the setting up can easily accommodate
all kinds of restaurants, including the ones without Internet access. As the size of a restaurant
increases, access point relays can always be added. In Figure 2, The menu data, upon synchronism, is
stored on locally on the tablets so that the customer, i.e. patron, need not wait for the menu to be
downloaded from the servers. This will allow quickly access to the menu. The customer can then
browse the menu however they want to, category the food on various aspects like cost, popularity,
ratings, etc. The user can also click through to view more information about any food item like
comestible information, ingredients, details and any other content that the restaurant owner may feel
like including. The user can also view personalized confirmation for foods that they may like. This is
one of the most important appearances of our system that not only improve the customerexperience
but can also help increase profit for the business. While browsing through the menu, the customer
may additems to his/her order. This process is commonly known as “add to cart”. After the order is
built and read, the usermay go ahead and place the order. The staff will automatically and almost
immediately be notified about the new order so thatthey can act on it. If the organization allows the
user may even track the status of their order so that the customer may know when to await their food
and drinks to land up on their table.

CONCLUSION AND FUTURE WORK

Thus, we present an automated food ordering system with features of wireless communication. This
system is useful, powerful and easy thereby improving the performance of restaurant’s staff. It will
also provide quality of delivery the food and customer satisfaction. Thus, the prospective system
would attract customers and also adds to the ability of maintaining the restaurant’s ordering and
payment sections. We have presented a digital restaurants and inter-restaurant exploration using
smart phones to customers. Instead of using PDAs to interface with customers, we are using smart
phones to provide necessary interfaces for customer to view and order menu. With private login
system, customers can view and make order and receive updates in real-time and collect receipts
right from the smart phone itself.
