 In a major boost to national food security government has launched the One Nation-One
Ration Card scheme on a pilot basis in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra and Gujarat
from 1st August 2019.Families who have food security cards can buy subsidized rice and
wheat from any ration shop in these states. Their ration cards should be linked with Aadhar

bank (SFB) to provide small loans to individuals, and small and medium enterprises. It aims

 The government has announced the repealing of Article 370 which grants special status to
Jammu and Kashmir. The resolutions in this regard were adopted by the Rajya Sabha. The
Upper House also passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2019 by voice vote.
The Bill seeks to make Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory with the legislature and

 Lok Sabha passes Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights), Bill. Moving the Bill, Minister
for State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Kishan Pal Gurjar said, the Bill prohibits the

discrimination against a transgender person, including denial of service or unfair treatment
in relation to education, employment, healthcare, access to, or enjoyment of goods,
facilities, opportunities available to the public. लोकिभा ने रांिजेंर्र व्यस्क्तयों (अधिकारों

Mohapatra, who earlier served as the Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman, took over

 The Reserve Bank of India has announced that the National Electronic Funds
Transfer(NEFT) facility will be available round-the-clock for the customers. RBI will make
available the NEFT system on a 24x7 basis from December 2019. Currently, NEFT payment
system operated by the Reserve Bank as a retail payment system is available for customers
from 8 AM to 7 PM on all working days of the week except 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the

 According to the World Bank, UK and France have surpassed India in GDP Ranking 2018
and the Indian economy has slipped to seventh place. India's GDP was $ 2.73 trillion, while

 Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare has initiated the process of registration for
the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY). It is an old-age pension scheme to
all Small and Marginal Farmers in the country. Under the scheme, a monthly pension of
3,000 rupees will be provided to the eligible farmers with up to two acres of land-holding
on attaining the age of 60 years.

 Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated ‘26th Ladakhi Kisan Jawan Vigyan Mela’
organised by Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) in Leh. DIHAR is a
research unit of DRDO in Ladakh. It is helping the farmers in revolutionising the Agriculture

 Government has notified 63 provisions of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 2019
including the ones dealing with enhanced penalties for various traffic offences. The new
clauses will come into effect from 1st of September.The 63 clauses deal with penalties,
licences, registration and National Transport Policy among others. िरकार ने मोटर वाहन
िंशोिन अधिननयम 2019 के 63 प्राविानों को अधििूधचत ककया है , जो ववसभन्न यातायात

 The 25th Senior Women’s National Football Championship will be held in Arunachal
Pradesh for the first time from September 10 to 24 this year. The tournament will be held

10m air rifle category with 251.7 points in the final. This is the 20-year-old Elavenil's first

 The national carrier Air India will ban the usage of plastic. The first phase will see ban being
imposed on the pollutant in Air India Express and Alliance Air flights starting the 2nd of

 The Bimal Jalan panel of the Reserve Bank has recommended that the revised economic
capital framework, under which the RBI decided to transfer Rs 52,637 crore excess
provisions to the government, be reviewed every five years. ररजवड बैंक के बबमल जालान

 Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announces the merger of 10 Public Sector Banks into
4. Merger of Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India into Punjab National
Bank and will form the second-largest public sector bank.Canara Bank and Syndicate Bank
will be merged to form the fourth-largest public bank. Union Bank of India, Andhra Bank
and Corporation Bank will also be merged. Indian Bank will be merged with Allahabad
Bank. It will be the seventh largest Public Sector Bank. ववत्त मंत्री ननमडला िीतारमण ने 10
िावडजननक क्षेत्र के बैंकों के ववलय की घोषणा की। ओररएंटल बैंक ऑफ कॉमिड और
