They’re Here...
1. ‘Put your Head on My Shoulders’ by Paul Anka ( dale click al texto te deberia llevar a donde esta
la letra dentro de este mismo documento, sera divertido)
As you might have guessed, the purpose is for you to try and find meaning in this songs and
translate that meaning
The first song is full of simple sentences, so it should not be so hard to translate.
For the second song, the task will be harder: I want you to, besides translating, write the tense of
every line or sentence: it could be present, present progressive, past, future will, conditional.
I know that is added difficulty so I am giving you a tense cheatsheet in the last page
For the third song you just need to translate and is mostly vocabulary
Have Fun!
(Oh and the next set of songs will be translating from Spanish to English to see if you can convey a
meaning that you know in a new language)
Sing: dah...
SIMPLE PRESENT
El presente simple expresa acciones que ocurren al instante La conjugacion siempre suele ser exactamente el verbo
original, excepto en tercera persona del singular donde se agrega una s al final. El auxiliar do se convierte en el negativo
do not para negar (O does not en el caso de la tercera persona)
Positivo( tercera persona resaltado) Negacion (Nota que no se agrega la ‘s’ al final)
I love pizza I do not love pizza
You drink beeer You do not drink beer
He kisses his girlfriend he does not kiss his girlfriend
She does not reject the idea
She rejects the idea
it does not jump
It jumps We do not read
We read the same book They do not dance salsa
They dance salsa
PRESENT PROGRESSIVE
El presente progresivo indica acciones que estan pasando por tiempo.El presente progresivo utiliza el auxiliar be (ser o
estar) el verbo mas raro de conjugar en ingles:
I am, You are, He is, She is , It is, We are, They are
Lo unico que hay que hacer es agregar el verbo que quieres expresar en la oracion mas la terminacion -ing (el gerundio)
I am eating pizza
You are drinking beeer
He is not kissing his girlfirend
She is reading a book
They are dancing salsa
SIMPLE PAST
No voy a extenderme en la explicacion, porque en este tiempo los verbos si se conjugan al pasado, debes reconocer las
conjugaciones en pasado. Los verbos regulares se conjugan con la terminacion “-ed” los demas son todo un despelote
PAST PROGRESSIVE
igual que el presente progresivo, pero el verbo auxiliat be se conjuga al pasado:
I was, You were, He was , She was, We were, They were
CONDITIONAL
Para hablar en condicional solo se agrega el auxiliar would que no se conjuga
FUTURE WILL
El futuro igual usa nomas del auxiliar will que negado es will not y en contraccion es won’t
