infinitely high in y-direction and long in z-direction.
1. Derive the conservation equation by making a balance over a finite volume in thes lab. Give
the boundary conditions.
2. Sketch the temperature profile between walls.

A bar of solid material (fig.2) with radius R has initial temperature T 0. At time t=0 the surfaces at
position r=R are suddenly put to temperature T1 and maintained there. Assume that the bar is infinitely
long.

3. Derive the conservation equation also for the finite volume in the bar (fig.2).
4. Give the boundary conditions.
