EE330 Project

In EE330, my final project was to design a PUF, which is physically unclonable function.

PUF serves as a unique identifier for a semiconductor manufacturing. PUFs depend on the

uniqueness of their physical microstructure. This microstructure depends on random physical

factors introduced during manufacturing. These factors are unpredictable and uncontrollable,

which makes it virtually impossible to duplicate or clone the structure.

At the very beginning, we had to design our own logical circuit using Cadence in

transistor level. We need to use these basic gates to implement the entire system. And in the end,

we need to come up with a schematic view and layout.

My role in this project was to design the schematic view in the transistor level. I learned a

lot of thing during this project beyond what I studied in lecture. Because PUF was such a new

topic, I could not find any useful information online. The best way to figure out this project was

to ask TA and he really provided me lots of help in this project.
