The Magic Paintbrush

Once upon a time there was a young, but poor and kind man called Ma
Liang. He worked for a rich man to tend to cattle. His hobby was drawing and
he drew pictures everywhere.

One night, he dreamed that an old man gave him a magic paintbrush and
asked him to use it to help poor people. When he woke up, he found the magic
paintbrush on his desk.

As told, Ma Liang used the paintbrush whenever people needed help. When
he saw that people had no water to use in the fields, he drew a river and the
river realized. However, the rich man heard about it and wanted to own the
magic paintbrush. He set a trick which sent Ma Liang to jail and finally he stole
the magic paintbrush.

Then, the rich man met his friends and showed them the magic paintbrush.
Further, he told them that the paintbrush could bring anything it drew, to life.
To prove it, he drew a lot pictures, but they could not realize. He was very
angry and asked several people to fetch Ma Liang. He said that he would set
Ma Liang free if drew pictures and turned them to life. Ma Liang agreed, but he
had an idea to trick the rich man.

Soon Ma Liang was free and met the rich man. In front of Ma Liang, the rich
man asked him to draw a golden mountain. Ma Liang drew a sea first, then a
golden mountain which was far away from the sea. Then, he drew a big ship.
The rich man boarded the ship first, followed by his family and friends. When
the ship sailed to the middle of the sea, Ma Liang drew a large wave which
then destroyed the ship. So the bad man and his friends drowned.

At last, Ma liang lived with his family happily and kept on helping poor
people. Since then, the magic paintbrush was known by everyone.
