"This can be the year our children and grandchildren will remember as when we chose to build a
sustainable and resilient future – both for Mother Earth and all those that development has until
now left behind. Let us seize this historic opportunity together", Ban Ki-moon says.
The word ‘mother’ holds great power. It evokes memories of the women who gave us life,
nurtured us as infants and help mold us into whom we are today. The Earth is the ultimate
mother – an astounding planet that has, since time immemorial, supported life in myriad
forms. As humans, we outgrow the need for constant maternal care. But we can never outgrow
our reliance on Mother Earth. As long as we live, we need air, water, fertile soil and the
countless other gifts this planet bestows.
This dependence makes it all the more astonishing that we have allowed rapid and often unwise
human development to disrupt so many of the delicate systems that have functioned
harmoniously for millennia. We are increasingly aware of the damage our species has wrought –
the pollution, the dwindling resources, the species of flora and fauna forever gone, the rush
towards tipping points that may alter the way our planet functions. Even with this knowledge,
we have yet to change our ways.
But we can change, and 2015 brings a critical opportunity to do just that. This year, the world
aims to finalize the post-2015 sustainable development agenda and reach a new and meaningful
universal climate change agreement. These processes have the potential to redefine our future
for the better, by eradicating extreme poverty in all its forms and resetting our relationship with
this planet and every living being it sustains.
But the big decisions that lie ahead are not just for world leaders and policy-makers. Today,
on Mother Earth Day, I ask each one of us to be mindful of the impacts our choices have on
this planet, and what those impacts will mean for future generations. Not everyone is able to
make sustainable choices, but for those who can, simple decisions such as switching to energy-
efficient lighting or buying only what you will consume – when accumulated across billions of
people – can transform our world. The power to change begins with you.
As a global community, we have the opportunity to make 2015 a turning point in human
history. This can be the year our children and grandchildren will remember as when we chose to
build a sustainable and resilient future – both for Mother Earth and all those that development
has until now left behind. Let us seize this historic opportunity together.

Save our mother earth
One of the biggest responsibility I feel is taking care of her family in the best possible way.
A mother plays different roles in the house - as a Daughter to her Parents, as a Wife to her
Husband, as a mother to her kids. Being respectful to her roles while in the house is her
responsibility and duty.
If they are a working woman, then another additional role adds up, being a duty-minded
officer in her office. In any role as long as she gives 100% of her abilities, she will be a role
model for others especially to her kids. Even they are being stressed to their work; they spend
time to do their responsibilities as a mother. Even everyday life e is sometimes too hard to
overcome; they do everything for their love ones and also for their selves. That’s how amazing
our mother, so we as their daughter or even a kind of person who have been part of their life, we
should take care and love them.
I salute to all the mothers who have been effectively handling all these responsibilities in
their day to day lives. What we can observe to our mother is just like what we can describe to our
earth. The Earth is the ultimate mother – an astounding planet that has, since time immemorial,
supported life in myriad forms. As humans, we outgrow the need for constant maternal
care. But we can never outgrow our reliance on Mother Earth. As long as we live, we need air,
water, fertile soil and the countless other gifts this planet bestows. Our earth is just like our
mother, while we are growing up, they support our needs as a human being in this world. As
long as we live, we need air, water, fertile soil and the countless other gifts this planet bestows.
This earth faced different kind of problems. Problems, which the main cause is the man-
kind. Our earth provides us what we need, every breath we take, food and so on. But we are
turning back things that can destroy our mother earth. It’s so unfair right for the situation of our
mother earth right?, but it’s too late, some part of our earth are totally damaged; pollution, the
dwindling resources, the species of flora and fauna forever gone, the rush towards tipping points
that may alter the way our planet functions, is we are increasingly aware of the damage our
species has wrought. What we needed to do?, We have yet to change our ways even with this
knowledge.
We need to change our every doing that can destroy our mother earth. We need to provide
how to overcome and resolve it, the reason is, not only our nature will experience the bad effects
of human doing but also all people living in this world; they are prone to the effects in being
destroyed of our nature .Man can revenge to his enemy, and how about our mother earth?
Our earth is continuously revenge, that’s how hard the problem we are facing and suffering
by our society. We are now experienced especially in Philippines, the too much hotness which is
not normal that comes from the raise of our sun. We experience flood, which the effects of
cutting trees. Without trees, there is no other thing that has an ability to control the water flows
especially in mountain. When rain waters are continuously running down without control, then
cities near the mountains are prone to flood. Trees gives air for our breathing, and what if they
totally loss? Do you accepted of losing it? Can you overcome the bad effects of it? If not, be
Government and any people who are part of taking good care to our society is providing
and planning now a solution to overcome the problem. .Sustainable development agenda and
reach a new and meaningful universal climate change agreement. Providing information can help
our society on what they should aware that can cause damaged to our mother earth. We need to
educate people, in order to minimize the percentage of losing and damaged that comes from the
human doing to our earth. But you know what is the most essential way to help our mother
earth?, the solution is comes to ourselves. We should educate ourselves to be a responsible and
disciplined person. Know the proper and right ways such as throwing garbage in proper places.
This can help to minimize the percentage of garbage that now is like a mountain. If we are all
together working with unity and respect, then we can help our mother earth to become healthy
and in order to share this for the next generation.
