8 Preliminary Port Planning and Design
8.3 Utilities (Electricity) Planning
8.3.1 General

The Electrical Installation for Bangladesh Land Port Authority’s Land Port at Ramgarh,Bhomra &
Benepole comprises of Electrical Sub-station, Generator, Internal Cable Distribution Network (for
supplying power in different buildings, platform and parking area) & Area Lighting on master plan,
electrical wiring of light, fan, small power, water pump and all other utilities .

8.3.2 Standards, Codes and Regulations

The installation in general shall be carried out in conformity with the Electricity Rules of the Government
of Bangladesh, Bangladesh National Building Code [BNBC] and the 16th edition of the Regulation for
Electrical Equipment of Buildings of the Institute of Electrical Engineers (U.K), hereinafter referred as
I.E.E. Wiring Regulations, and the British Standard Code of practice for the relevant works. Any special
requirement of the Electrical Inspector, Govt. of Bangladesh or the Power Development Board, Rural
Electrification Board, West Zone Power Distribution Company, BTCL, or any other Legal Authority shall
also be complied.

The standards of the following organisations will be followed for design, manufacture, installation,
testing and commissioning of wiring and communication system of this project:
