Vision for my Classroom

My main objective for my classroom is to provide the best learning experience possible to all

students. My students will work hands-on with history to not only learn about our past but how it has

affected our future. Every great decision has had its consequences and I want my students to

understand that our issues today are not all that different to those of the past. History is a record of

human decisions that can help us make better choices today. By connecting our past to the present and

future I can keep my students enthralled in the history of us. My classroom will be a safe space where

students can learn, debate, and respect one another. My highest principle is the respect of everyone

within my room. I will treat every student with respect, and I expect the same from my students. A

combination of lecture style mixed with various activities will keep the students active and engaged. I

believe students should be able to get up and move around to stimulate their learning so group work

and full class activities will be essential to my lesson plans. Getting everyone involved and speaking with

one another will help diversify our classroom culture. Groups will not be chosen by students as I want

them to meet people they normally would not talk to. I want them to learn as much about each other

and their own personal histories as much as I want them to learn about world history. My classroom will

be a place where everyone can be themselves and cooperate in our classroom learning.

RULES AND OBJECTIVES:
Classroom procedures
 RESPECT is given to everyone who walks through my classroom door
 All students will be expected to be in their seats and ready to learn at the sound of the bell.
 Bring the necessary materials for learning to each class period. (BE PREPARED)
 Each student will be given an assigned seat and is expected to be in that seat.
 All students will be quiet and attentive while teacher speaks and must raise hand for questions
of comments.
 All students will be expected to grab the daily handout in the basket by the door before taking
their seat.
 Students must be quiet once teacher has finished counting down from 5.
 If Tech sign is green you can use your personal devices but only for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES.
Bathroom
 Only one person may use the bathroom at a time.
 A bathroom pass must be taken with them when they go to bathroom.
 Use a peace sign to let me know you need to use restroom.
 If bathroom privileges are being abused, they may be revoked.
Homework
 Homework will be put on top of desk at start of period to be collected.
 Homework not turned in within first five minutes of class will be considered late.
 Need 48 hour notice for any needed extensions.
 Late work will incur a letter grade drop for each class period it is late.
 Plagiarism will be punished with an immediate F on the assignment and office visit.
Public Materials
 Please bring all necessary materials to class.
 I will provide some pencils and classroom items but must be notified of use and returned at end
of class period.
 Treat all classroom items with respect just like your peers.
Computer and Phone

 We may use phones of computers during class time

 At no point should you leave designated website of assignment during class time.
 Abuse of this rule will lead to confiscation of computer or personal devices.
Expectations
 Treat others with respect.
 Come to class prepared.
 LEARN
