ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to determine the risk and return on how drugs affect the human lives. And why
some people tend to do those things in negative way which can lead their lives into risk. It utilized
research studies done by different researchers in their chosen field as their way of collecting data.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The study helps us to aim the positive acknowledgement between illegal drugs and how it affects our
lives and community. This study helps us to improvise and acknowledge our analytical thinking
through and how to prevent those negative things and how we must be aware on handling them all.
 SCOPE OF THE STUDY

This study and improvises the prevention and the awareness among the people in every societies using
illegal drugs in the Dumaguete Region.

The results of the study will be beneficial to the following:

Municipal officials – the findings of the study will make them fully aware of the importance of raising
awareness and to emphasize the need for information dissemination in order to prevent the use of
illegal substances.

PNP – the study will enlighten them to perform the duties and responsibilities as law enforcers in
educating or knowing the people with regards to illegal substances or materials.

Criminology student – they will be able to use the results of this study as reference for related
researchers.
DEFINITION OF TERMS

Awareness- means the knowledge or understanding of an idea or thought.

Illegal drugs- it is considered illicit drugs and include marijuana, other hallucinogens, cocaine, heroin
and other narcotics.

Utilize- to make practical and effective use of.
