TROUBLESHOOTING- General

E8 Dishwashers are electronically controlled and some faulty conditions can

be detected by the electronics. These errors are detected not only in the
functional test program but also during the washing cycles. The previously
detected errors are kept in memory and shown in display.

When the test programs are started, error date in memory will be cleared
which enables to understand if the same fault occurs during the functional
test again. At the end of the test diagnossed errors date will also be cleared.

TROUBLESHOOTING- OverFlow [Er:1]

If the control system senses an overflow signal for 20 seconds from the overflow switch
the system enters a standby state for 2 minutes. During the standby time the drain
pump automatically runs. After the standby duration is completed if the control system
still senses an overflow signal the machine gives “Call service” error message. The
system stops responding to any user input except the ON/OFF button.
If there is no overflow signal after 2 minute standby time the machine continue to
work normally.

Possible reasons:
•Broken components or torned hoses
•Malfunction of drain pump
•Malfunction of flowmeter
•Malfunction of water inlet valve
•Cable harness errors
•Faulty electronics

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING- No Water [E:02]

Incoming water to the machine is monitored via a water counter (flow meter)
system. Water counter generates electronic pulses. During the “Water Inlet” step
(for any program including functional test) if no pulses could be sensed by the
electronics, No Water condition occurs. At this condition the dishwasher will wait
until water signal is detected. If necessary water signal is detected the machine
will continue its normal operation.

Possible reasons:

a.Malfunction of water inlet valve

b.No water
c.Insufficient water pressure
d.Cable harness errors
e.Faulty electronics

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING- Heater Fault [E:03]

The water temperature in the machine is measured by an NTC (negative temperature

coefficient). NTC is simply a resistance value dependent on temperature.
At the Heating step, if the temperature rise is less than 1 C within 3 minutes heating
fault occurs. When the fault detected software skips the heating step and continues
the program with the next step.

Possible reasons:

a. Malfunction of heater
b. Malfunction of NTC (constant NTC resistance)
c. Cable harness errors
e. Faulty electronics

Note: During the first 3 minutes of a heating step the water temperature is not
controlled. The control system waits so that the temperature inside the machine reaches
balance.

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING- Turbidity Fault [E:04]

Turbidity sensor is the component that measures the amount of dirt in the
water. The machine uses this data for the steps of Auto Program (if
applicable). If the proper data from the turbidity sensor cannot be received,
Turbidity Sensor Error occurs. When the error occurs, the software
continues the program as heavy dirt level.

Possible reasons:
a.Malfunction of Turbidity Sensor
b.Cable harness errors
c.Faulty electronics

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING
Diverter Valve Pos. Fault [E:05]

3Way / Multi Valve is the component that diverts the water flow between the
upper and lower trays independently. It is driven by the electronics and the
position of the valve is measured by a feedback signal. Diverter Valve Position
Error occurs if the proper position signal could not be received from the valve.
When the error occurs, the electronics drives the valve until proper position
signal is achieved.

Possible reasons:

a.Malfunction of water diverter way valve

b.Cable harness errors
c.Faulty electronics

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING- NTC Fault [E:06]

At the Heating step, if NTC resistance is measured beyond the specified resistance
values or if the NTC resistance is measured as open/short circuit NTC fault occurs.
When the fault is detected software skips the heating step and continues the
program with the next step.

Possible reasons:

a.Malfunction of NTC
b.Cable harness errors
c.Faulty electronics

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING- Water Inlet Valve Fault [E:07]

The electronics of the machine monitors water counter pulses at every step of
the washing program. If pulses are received from the counter at any step other
than Water-Inlet; Water Inlet Error occurs. When the fault is detected, software
drives the drain pump 1 minute then check the counter signal again.
- If the signal exists, that means the faulty condition does still continue. Then
drain pump is activated with 1 minute intervals (1 min ON, 1 min. OFF)
- Instead if the signal is stopped, then software continues with the selected
program.

Possible reasons:

a.Malfunction of water inlet valve (stuck as open)

b.Faulty electronics

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING
External Board Communication Fault [E:08]

During machine working cycle, if communication between main electronic board and
external electronic board is lost; this fault is encountered.

Possible reasons:

a. Cable harness errors

b. Faulty socket installation
c. Faulty electronics
External electronic board
Main electronic board

TROUBLESHOOTING
Display Board Communication Fault [E:09]

During machine working cycle, if communication between main electronic board and
display electronic board is lost; this fault is encountered.

Possible reasons:

a. Cable harness errors

b. Faulty socket installation
c. Faulty electronics
External electronic board
Display electronic board

TROUBLESHOOTING
Conducto Board Communication Fault [E:10]

During machine working cycle, if communication between main electronic board and
conducto electronic board is lost; this fault is encountered.
(This fault is encountered only in machines with conducto feature)

Possible reasons:

a. Cable harness errors

b. Faulty socket installation
c. Faulty electronics
External electronic board
Conducto electronic board

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING
Conducto Probe / Short Circuit Faults [E:11 / E:12]

These errors are encountered when conducto probe cable harness occurs or cable
sockets installed in wrong direction.

Possible reasons:

a. Cable harness errors

b. Faulty socket installation

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING
Pressure Switch Fault [E:13]

Machines with pressure switch feature, in washing cycle, after water inlet is completed
the pressure switch is clicked. If it is not, pressure swtch fault is encountered.

At the water inlet part of the programme, after enough amount of water is taken
into the sump (apprx 2,5 liter); pressure switch is expected to be clicked.

Possible reasons:

a. Faulty pressure switch

b. Faulty water inlet counter
c. Faulty electronics

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING
Water Counter Fault [E:15]

At washing cycle water inlet step, if water counter does not increase but the pressure
switch clicks; main board software encounters «water counter» fault.

Possible reasons:

a. Cable between main board and water counter may be broken

b. Cable sockets may not be properly installed.
c. Faulty water counter
d. Faulty pressure switch
e. Faulty electronics

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING
Drain Pump Blocked Fault [E:16]

At drain (evacuation) step, pressure switch position is controlled by the mainboard

while 5 seconds left to finish step. If pressure switch still stays «clicked», «drain pump
blocked» fault is encountered.

Possible reasons:

a. Faulty drain pump.

b. Faulty pressure switch
c. Faulty electronics

Sensitivity: Public
TROUBLESHOOTING
Automatic Detergent Dosage Motor Positioning
Fault [E:17]
At liquid detergent dosing step, dosage motor tries to find right position.
If position can not be found in specified time interval, position fault counter is
increased. After 2 unsuccessfull try, electronic board gives [E:17] error.

Possible reasons:

a. Faulty dosage motor

b. Misconnected or unconnected motor cable
c. Faulty electronics
